If you're doing a bunch of trimming, you absolutely want them to spring back open after each snip. These don't have finger loops like a pair of sewing or barber's scissors. Actually these would be extremely frustrating and borderline useless without the spring.

Fiskars, 1000%, all day, every day, three times on Sunday. To be fair, I've used a bunch of these cheapies, and they do just fine, and this is a good deal here. But once you go Fiskars you don't want anything else. I think I paid like $13 in store at Walmart for my current favorite pair, and I'd do it again. They're widely available, WM, Amz, Lowe's, HD, some hardware stores, etc. They cut perfectly, time after time, the coated blades clean up a little easier than uncoated blades, and they're just a bit more comfortable to use.

If you plan to use these for a lengthy period of time, Fiskars non-stick snips are the best. I bought 5 pairs in 1998; one of the five pairs broke last year after 24 years of regular use. I sent Fiskars a pic of the broken snips and they mailed me a brand-new pair. You can't beat that level of customer service--guaranteed for life. Fiskars is quality all-around.

Always bring the pruners inside once done using them..no matter the brand...these some how rust easily if left outside and get exposed to water (sprinkler or rain)..
