As I've gotten very much into VR, I wanted to post some info.

1) Don't overlook referrals. Essentially you use a referral from someone and you both get $30, which is one or two games. You can do this before you activate your headset and I believe within 60 days after activating. See instructions below on how to do that.

2) These are some suggestions of the games I happen to think are either really good and/or will show friends to showcase VR.

• Until You Fall - Weapon-based rouge-lite where you use perks and various weapons to block, deflect, and sword fight with enemies. Has bosses too. Great workout!

• Ancient Dungeon - It's a rouge-lite where you go further into the dungeon with kind of... Minecraft-style graphics. But it has dozens of perks and changes everytime you play. It's crazy the amount of work put into this.

• Population One - Pretty much the de-facto battle royale game on VR if you guys like BR's.

• Halflife Alyx - The very best game on VR! You'll have to use your PC for this one and connect via AirLink or VirtualDesktop. Let me know if you need help with this.

• PokerStars VR - The game I've played THE most. I don't even like poker that much but it was free so I tried it. It's more than poker. You log in, see everyone walking around the lobby, find a table, and end up just chatting and joking and laughing for hours. I met so many great people on there. Some I ended up being good friends with and even met people IRL. It's just a great social... experience?

• Synth Riders - Everyone talks about Beat Saber for your rhythm game but Synth is where it's at. The songs are much better and the "moves" are more dancy. It'll work up a sweat for sure!

• Pistol Whip - Another rhythm game that's essentially a rail-shooter where you shoot to the music. Has great music and it WILL make you sweat.

• Phasmaphobia - This game man... it's all about going into a house or a school or prison or whatever with a team of 4 people and you guys are using all kinds of tools to investigate whatever kind of ghost/spirit is in the place. In VR it's scary. I remember the first time I played it alone in my house... looking down the stairs to the basement and pointing my flashlight down there to see something move out of the light... jesus!

• Cook-Out: A Sandwich Tale - You work with others to put together sandwiches. It's fast, it gets intense, you guys have to rely on each other, and it's addicting. I love it, especially once you get a few levels in and the customers and coming in hot and fast. It gets crazy.

Also know that you can use the Quest 2 wirelessly with your gaming PC to play a lot of games.

If you have any questions let me know. I love getting people into VR!

Below are some instructions about referrals. There shouldn't be any reason why anyone doesn't use one. It's basically a free game with your headset!

✨ ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨

3️0️⃣ referral link! • U.S. referral!

Using a referral link, both you and the person will get an Oculus store credit.
Usually it's $30, and sometimes they increase the amount of credit to an even higher amount.

Typical referral example: https://www.oculus.com/referrals/...AMEOMITTED

* 1️⃣: Click a referral link ➡️ Log in with Facebook/Oculus ➡️ Connect.
* 2️⃣: Download the Oculus app on your phone and login with same Facebook/Oculus account.
* 3️⃣: Turn on your headset but do not activate it just yet.
* 4️⃣: Oculus app ➡️ Connect to headset ➡️ Type in pairing code (seen in the headset itself)
* 5️⃣: The credit should be added to your account!

Verify this under Menu ➡️ Settings ➡️ Payment Methods.

⚠️ Activated your headset before using a referral link?
You can still get the credit by following the next steps.

* 1️⃣: Go to https://secure.oculus.com/my/devices

* 2️⃣: Find your headset and select Delete Device Data.
* 3️⃣: Factory reset the headset itself by holding power + both volume buttons for several seconds.
* 4️⃣: Follow the factory reset instructions on the headset.
* 5️⃣: Now you are able follow the referral link and instructions above.

ℹ️ More info: https://support.oculus.com/articl...referrals/
Title is misleading. It's not $250 with a $50 GC. It's $300.

Also keep in mind the Meta Quest 3 is releasing soon.

It will be releasing this November at a price of $500. There is a pretty large price gap.

I remember spending $300 on the 256 GB + carrying case at Costco in 2020. Where did those prices go? 😢

I'm not sure why anyone would get this when the Quest 3 is coming out soon. Sure it's cheaper, but there's a lot more packed into the Quest 3

In 4 1 cause Quest 3 discount would probably come at least 1 year from now. Getting the 3 when it hits 300
