As someone with a Quest 2 and a Quest 3.. I haven't touched my Quest 2 since the Q3 release, and I'd still highly recommend this deal, even without the gift card.

The Quest 2 still has quite a bit of life to it - it won't get the high-res textures in newer games, but Meta unlocked something like 30% extra power in the headset a while back, there's a huge backlog of quality games and even the newer games run on it (there might be a couple quest-3-exclusive games on it)

Much of the Quest3 benefit is going to be in the better lenses, the extra power (higher quality visuals) and the color passthrough, and I love all of these -- but the Quest 2 can still run games great.

I'd say the controllers on the Quest 2 might even track better than the Quest 3.

A couple quick notes/suggestions:

Use a referral code when activating your Quest, you'll get a bonus $30 store credit.
Whenever buying a game from the store, use a referral code and you'll save 25% instantly. Both of these are easy to find.

Buy the "Quest Games Optimizer" (3rd party tool) which will let you adjust the quality of games, like resolution and power. Many of them are not optimized and can look considerably better with this add-on

You could buy from Target and return the new unopened one to Walmart?

I completely respect the significant price difference, but… the 3 not having one specific visual "sweet spot" you have to align to perfectly, thanks to pancake vs fresnel lenses, is a huge difference for me and has meant I am now unable to use my 2. However, if you have never used either, for $150, this is a cheap entry point. But, once you use the Q3's lenses….

Front page in 3...2...

Edit: haters can downvote me all you want, but you can't change the fact that this price is indeed good enough for the front page.

Hmmm, looks tempting. The $15 reward for purchases of $100 (ymmv, check your account) also expires tomorrow, so this could probably be combined with that FYI.

I have the same bonus so this deal is tempting. There's also Sam's club $99 deal (YMMV) but apparently not nationwide clearance. Also, rumors of Quest 3 lite for $199.99 later this year. For anyone in the market today this Target deal is definitely a great one.

Yeah that's my issue - should I hold out for the 3 or jump on the deals for the 2? Anyone know if there's a big difference?

I'm told It's not enough to upgrade from 2. But if you don't own a headset, buy the 3.

Ugh. I bought it earlier this week from Walmart for $200 (no extras or bonuses). The kids opened it and have been playing it so I think I am stuck.

My Odyssey+ is collecting dust. I feel like this is a good deal at $200 -$50(gift card) -$10(reward YMMV) -$30(meta credit) = $110(discount wise)(maybe I'll catch the Sams clearance.

I've been wanting the 3 but there's no sales currently.

Was hoping for a Xbox Series X this time around to use my 15% registry coupon on.

Thanks OP. I had a get $10 in rewards if you spend $60 and a 10% off any one item which took off another $15. $185.94 after checkout.
