wonder why nobody mentions Robinhood's 4.9% with FIDC insurance ofor over >2million?
Any cons to robinhood?
Robinhood will lock you out of your account when you least expect it and pretend it was a glitch. They've been under SEC watch for a few years now because of their relationship to scamming daytraders and the whole Gamestop/AMC trading fiasco during lockdown. I wouldn't put a dollar into them or Citi, who owns them.
Every one you named is a money market account. That's not the same as a savings account.
Primis is a Savings and Checking and all have FDIC insurance. Please fact check accurately and dont mislead on MMFs espacially there are multiple higher paying savings and money markets as an equivalent with FDIC insurance.
Also very happy with Sofi so far. With the overdraft protection, it automatically uses funds in savings to cover checking activities. Transfer all your checking account funds into savings, and you're always getting the 4.5% interest. Until they ever get rid of the overdraft protection, the checking/savings account function as a 4.5% interest checking account. From what I understand, nobody out there is doing this at this interest rate. All other banks work the checking and savings independently, since they work together you are always getting max interest on your checking balances.
Been using Sofi for 2+ years. I switched over from Chase and really like their Relay Insights. Helps me keep track of all my Assets and credit card debt to give me a better picture of my net worth.
I am \using SOFI for over a year. Their transfers are fast. As they work like an SF-based startup, they add many features over time. Vaults are good to store money based on goals. They automatically do transfers from Savings to checking accounts if there is an overdraw. I was able to use their free financial advisor service, not very comprehensive, but works for simple scenarios.
Been using SoFi for about three months, interest rate is nice, but compared to other banks they hit you up with a ton of 'offers'. Easy enough to ignore, but when dealing with a bank you probably don't want to assume you can ignore all communication.
I've used Sofi for a little over 3 years. First I opened a brokerage account, then a savings account. Then a Roth IRA, and eventually invited my wife to join so we could do a joint account. I moved all my money from my brokerage to Robinhood, and then to think or swim because you can actually do options and research and show various things on a graph.
The rate on the checking and savings accounts stopped going up, and we weren't doing direct deposit so we were losing out on money every month. I liked the option to do vaults, but I'm not making it my primary bank since I have my main credit card through my primary bank. We ended up moving our savings over to wealthfront and are currently getting 4.80%.
I really wish I hadn't opened my Roth IRA with sofi. I should have gone with td Ameritrade.

CIT has a transaction limit for savings. Sofi does not. Therefore all of your checking activities will be backed by your savings balance with sofi.
