Much better deal is the moto edge Plus 2022 from the boost mobile deal. It's $200 for the phone plus $40 for 1st month service (cancel auto pay) and about $4 for the unlock code from ebay. I have been using it with Cricket for about 3 weeks now and because its performance is way more consistent it feels like an upgrade to my previous pixel 7.
I currently have a Pixel 3 I need to upgrade. I am waiting on the Pixel 8 release, but will look at this as an interim phone.

I was not sure about which deal had this phone.

Would you have a link to the deal I could use to review?

The two SoC's aren't exactly comparable apples to apples since they are designed differently. That being said, overall you'd expect it to be roughly the same as a SD780 or SD865 according to synthetic benchmarks. It really depends on the exact task you are trying to perform on the phone. If you're specifically thinking about gaming the Mali G610 on the Dimensity 1050 is better than the Adreno 642 on the SD780. However the Adreno 650 on the SD865 is better than the Mali G610 on the Dimensity 1050 in raw performance but not better in efficiency.
If it's roughly the same as a SD 865 than this processor is great! I got a oneplus 8 and despite being 3 years old it's still super fast.

FYI, expendable storage is not fast enough for modern phones. It provides a poor user experience. I'm not referring to the vast majority here. We understand. But an average customer would say that their phone is laggy when using expandable storage.
SD card is fast enough to watch uhd videos and play FLAC music files. It would be extremely useful for content creators or those that consume lots of media. I just space to store my comics, textbooks, music library and TV shows.

It helps that some 855 and newer phones have 90hz, really fast storage speeds and lpddr4.

Obviously your phone would be no good for playing the latest games at max settings, or whatever people do.

That's the link for the moto edge plus 2023 but the 2022 version is also also on sale. In my opinion the 2022 model is the better deal because for half the price of the newer model you get 80%-90% of the same performance but it's up to you.

It should work on TMobile because boost mobile uses the at&t and TMobile networks but check the bands to make sure.

Unlocking it is super easy. Buy the code from ebay (check the link below for more info on that) and they will ask you for the IMEI number, once they get that they will send you the unlock code. Then insert your sim card from your old phone (I never used the one from boost) and turn the new phone on and it's going to ask you for the unlock code. Type it in and that's it, your new phone is unlocked

Honestly after Moto did corner cutting on the 2023 series except for the Stylus 2023 5G and also no eSim support on 98% of Moto devices, I have completely stopped buying Moto's. With RF performance getting worse year after year and the 2022 Stylus 5G having the worst Audio Card on any Moto I have Owned, I feel Moto is losing it's vision and falling behind.

Upvote just because I want Moto to regain some marketshare. Samsung has become the Apple of Android land in this country and despite being a Galaxy line fan for a while - they need to feel some competition again.

This. One million times this.

Megapixel count tells you absolutely nothing about what the qualities of the photos on your cellphone will be. There's actually a tipping point where too many pixels on given a sensor can make things worse instead of better.
Right, I have a 33mp and 40mp digital camera that's both take photos that can't even begin to be compared to a smartphone, because they have actual large sensors, the sensor on my 33mp is bigger and produces trechnically better pictures (Sony a7 Iv) but I do prefer the character of the 40mp aps-c(Fuji xt-5). Picture quality definitely comes largely from the post processing, the lens, the sensor size, I completely agree with you, hell I even had to look up the mega pixel count on my cameras even though I use them constantly, it just isn't something I concern myself with, I have spent thousands and thousands on cameras and lenses etc and it's my last concern generally.
