Just leaving this comment here for the benefit of others - This is the Edge (Mediatek processor) and not the Edge + with the Snapdragon processor.

I have a pixel 6a and this Moto edge. Other than the updates, the Moto is a much better daily driver. I've been using it since December and have found it perfectly capable. The screen is impressive and bright. The camera has a larger main sensor than my galaxy S 22, and although the software is weaker, it takes really nice photos that look great even printed out at 8.5 by 11. The speakers are much better than my galaxy or iPhone. The media Tech is surprisingly responsive, although obviously not as fast as the snapdragon in the Edge plus. It's very lightweight and feels nicely balanced in the hand. I'm sure others will disagree vehemently, but I heartily recommend this phone at this price.

The megapixel count isn't what matters on modern smartphones. It's just a marketing figure. The AI software that's processing the photo is what matters. Also, the quality of the sensor is more important than the pixel count. The Pixel 7 line only has a 50MP camera and it's tied with Samsung and Apple's flagships for the best photos. Moto has inferior software than the leading manufacturers. Moto has a phone with a 200MP camera, yet it takes inferior photos to even the Pixel 5's 12MP camera. Depending on what you're documenting, the Moto may still be fine, though. It's not like the photos will be a completely blurry mess. They just won't look as crisp and photogenic.

Boost 2022 Edge + doesn't seem compatible with alot of other providers. I just got one delivered and searching IMEI doesn't seem compatible with most providers I check. If I get unlock it via ebay will it work with other providers. I'm trying not to open it if I sell or return it

As mentioned earlier. Get the boost edge Plus for about the same price. Much better phone. Fraction of the cost of a s 23
Hi. I followed your advice and got the boost edge plus. Just to clarify, do I just set up the boost account and turn off auto pay? Am I missing anything?

I also did the same. Tomorrow I will put my dads spectrum SIM card in it and check if it works. On their site, it isn't compatible. I checked all the bands and it should work tho. I will let you know

The phone will for Tmobile, Visible, etc. I'm using a boost moto on Tmobile as we speak, MVNOs won't have the IMEI for this in their database, especially since they don't carry it and it's not a popular phone (iphone or Galaxy).

Wow. So you are telling me that the boost Motorola Edge+ 2022 that gets later unlocked wouldn't work with RedPocket (t-mobile sim)? That is a shame for my use. I have to look into that.

Go with a Google Pixel phone instead. Motorola phones are notorious for poor security updates. Pixels will get updates from at least 5 years from the time the phone first came out.
What percentage of people use their phone for 5 years? Is that battery even going to survive to year 5? This Motorola phone gets 3 system updates and 4 years of security updates. I am currently using a Pixel 6a as my daily driver. There is no way that I am going to use that phone for 5 years. I think the majority of slickdealers here will use their phone for 1-3 years and then upgrade.

I would love to see the same thing, but I think Moto's glory days are in the rearview when Google sold it to Lenovo. Lenovo seems to be much more budget conscious with these phones which means they cut corners on quality. However, I feel like they are one of the most trustworthy of the budget brands.
Glory days behind? What were the great Motorola phones that came out before 2014? Lenovo bought Motorola all the way back in 2014. Almost a decade ago. Motorola came out with a bunch of awesome phones since 2014. I have the Moto G 2nd Gen (2015), Moto X Pure (2015), Moto Z Play (2016), Moto Z2 Force (2017) <--- Probably my all-time favorite most enjoyed Motorola phone with the specs, moto mods/style shells and the $99 deal, Moto G Power/Stylus (2020) and Moto G Stylus 5G 2022.

The big gripe from others was the updates but this motorola phone comes with 3 system updates and 4 years of security updates. Motorola is actually getting better. In terms of bang for the buck with specs, they are right there with Samsung and Google Pixel. I have Motorola, Samsung and Pixel. I think the Pixel A series line is slipping. They continue to stick with the 6.1" screen which is fine for people that want that but it is kind of too small to really enjoy. GSMArena states the Pixel 7a has a 76 hour endurance rating when my Pixel 6a has a 94 hour endurance rating. That is a huge downgrade in an already below average Pixel 6a battery life. Still with the 18 watt wired charging? Ehh. The Google A-line is losing me and the Samsung upper A-line & Motorola phones are attracting me lot more nowadays.

Please keep me posted, I also bought it for spectrum. Did you get a unlock code from ebay or just trying it outta the box?

Hi. Yes, got it unlocked successfully from ebay. No luck getting it to work on spectrum. I waisted 2 hrs on the phone with costumer service and no go. It appears as incompatible with their system. It seems to connect with their network when you put their sim card in. After that any calls I made go to costumer service…
I also checked with Verizon and online imei comes up as incompatible.
At this point it's useless and I will try to return it…

Sucks, I'm in the same boat, debating returning to boost or just try and sell local or eBay. Let me know how much of a pain returns are if you go that way. And thanks for doing all the legwork, saved me half my day tomorrow.

I used a OnePlus 8 on Visible, even though it's not officially supported. Worked fine because all major bands were present. I'm pretty sure the Edge will work, because it has the same bands as the G Stylus (which I'm using on T-Mobile).

Problem is Motorola says you'll get 3 system updates, but they don't deliver. Android 13 has been out for a year and this phone is still running version 12. I still may pick this up for free from T-Mobile, but I wouldn't count on actually getting the updates that Moto says you will.

Name me the Motorola phone that they didn't deliver its promised system update.

Of course they deliver. It just comes late. If it came with Android 12 in September 2022, I would expect Android 13 in September 2023 or earlier, Android 14 in September 2024 or earlier and Android 15 in September 2025 or earlier. Can one wait for a yearly system update on a FREE phone or $250 deal phone? I use a daily driver Pixel 6a with the very latest updates and a Moto G Stylus 5G 2022 and they are pretty much identical with user interface and features to me. I had to google android 12 vs 13 to see what the differences were. Lot of the websites are pushing android 13 too so take it with a grain of salt when somebody says "This redesigned feature is better.". Just like IOS system updates, not every android system update is the next greatest system update. I can barely tell the difference with my use. Redesigned widgets, one handed mode, redesigned lock screen clock, etc. These upgrades aren't huge PROs that I need it as soon as possible. Even if it is slightly better, I can wait. Android 13 is known to take a much bigger hit on battery life than Android 12. I do value battery life. When my Motorola G Stylus 5G 2022 gets a system update to 13, I will be like "OK. I will download it." but I won't be getting excited for these minor tweaks especially if it sacrifices some extra battery life. To me, Android 11 looks better with its "stock android feel" to me than Android 12/13. We see many Apple users complain after they updated to a new system that it may have bugs or made their phones slower. Not every Android system update is better than the last or the greatest android system.

Security updates? If I get monthly security updates or bimonthly over 4 years, I really don't care much. That is perfectly reasonable length of time for security for a FREE phone or $250 deal phone.
