Math not adding up buddy.
Use it with non salty side dishes and don't add salt. I think everything is way too salty but mixed with eggs and roasted potatoes for breakfast is perfect.

The Walmart Great Value SPAM seems to keep longer, and HORMEL Treat/Aldi Loaf seems to keep even better. I'd look for higher salt (it's a preservative), and the more solid cans.
Canned fish in oil like sardines, or kippers keep much longer than SPAM.
How long do you really need to keep it? I've had 2 cans in the pantry for over a year now and they look perfectly fine. I really have to be in the mood to eat Spam.
I ate no spam at all until one day as a joke we had some with Chinese duck and Japanese style sticky rice (short grain, cooked properly in a zojirushi cooker). We were shocked it was better than the duck! Spam by itself is too salty, with good sticky rice, perhaps in a musubi, it's excellent. Years later our kids regularly beg for spam and rice.
