When you move your laptop between locations, being able to use only ONE plug to set everything up versus replugging your power cord, display cord, and all your usb devices is a huge conviniience. 20$ once to only have one cord to slap in everytime i move between my living room and my real ass workstation is totally worth it.

EDIT: but why no network port? Deal killer for me is that this doesnt support an ethernet connection too.

PSA -As is case with most of these from Anker, you lose 15 watts on pass through.

That's why it shows on Amazon 100 in and 85 out. Why is this important?

If you have say a Dell Latitude with a 65watt PSU, and you plug this into thinking pass-through, laptop will give you warning at boot that you are only providing low power at 40 watts. It's only partial.

In my case I have 100watt usb power also, so I can use that. Remember, you can go higher wattage on usb, just not lower. That means, plugging into a 60 Watt charger, when you only need 15 Watts is fine.

Yes but if you use these more than a couple hours they will burn the desk!

When one of the 6 is specifically for power, it doesn't really seem like it's got 6 expansion ports.

Should be 5-in-1 with power delivery...

Sure you can, it might just take longer to charge.

I've run my MacBook Pro 16" Max on 30W for days (as a test) and it was fine and w
It comes with a 140W, but my Thunderbolt dock only passes 85W, I'm rarely using that much power, if I am, I'll plug in the bigger charger.

If you're running your laptop at 100% power with a 30W charger, it's not going to keep it at 100% charge as 100% could be more than 30W, so it's going to hit the battery too. You don't want this as a permanent solution, but as a travel charger (assuming you're not on your laptop your whole vacation) something smaller works great.

Even with my old MacBook, I'd keep my MacBook Air charger in my bag instead of lugging around a bigger charger (which I rarely need to charge it when out anyways).

I might buy this one in the OP and compare with this one I bought during Prime Days for my Tab S8+ (same price): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BVLZ4LXR
The Anker in OP has the brand name but instead has a headphone jack, whereas this gives back a USB C slot (not familiar with this brand though).
How do you use that with the Tab S8+? What function does it perform?

So tempted to get a hub so we don't have to connect/disconnect laptop, monitor and their accessories but I kept reading too many bad reviews about heat and disconnection.
been there.

I got this Anker 7-in-1 back in Aug 2020 and still works. Paid $26.49 on sale. https://a.co/d/cQzYHhv

I got this ugreen 5-in-1 in May 2023 for a second location, this one is a lot smaller than my Anker and is the more portable of the two. I like it a lot, and is cheap, normally < $20.

I'd be comfortable getting any Anker or Ugreen at this point.

The Anker hub is used to connect a second monitor via hdmi, the Ugreen uses both the HDMI and a USB a to connect a portable monitor.

I ended up buying a wireless Logitech Bluetooth keyboard so I could pair it with the laptop directly rather than use a dongle.

Hope this helps. Super convenient to have two as I work in 2 different areas of the house and now only have a single USB-C to plug and unplug.

The Dell will blue screen and not boot when plugged in and give warnings. Yes, some devices will work just fine and just slow charge.

I'm trying to experiment and see if I can use my computer as a remote pc and turn my tablet into my primary pc. So at minimum I need a USB-C hub that allows Power in and HDMI out. Since the tab only has one port, getting a USB c port for data would be nice, then having usb and SD card are added bonuses.
