Hemming the leg pants is inexpensive, but if you need the sleeves shortened (requires removal of the sleeves and then re-attached) or the jacket shortened or altered to pull in it will cost quite a bit. My mom charges $70 to shorten jacket sleeves, but she is booked 2-3 weeks in advance as she's been an alterations/seamstress for over 40 years in my city and has a rep for quality work.

ya I was looking at these, pretty hard to argue against a $100 suit. Just make sure you go to a tailor to make it perfect, which will probably be about $100-extra expense. Probably a fused construction, but its still worth it for the price with 100% wool or 50% blend. Here is a link to a comparison of different suit brands and Jos A Banks scored an F, but if you dont have a lot of money it's still a reasonable option and youll still look sharp:

ya I was looking at these, pretty hard to argue against a $100 suit. Just make sure you go to a tailor to make it perfect, which will probably be about $100-extra expense. Probably a fused construction, but its still worth it for the price with 100% wool or 50% blend. I"ll hold out for a Jcrew Ludlow suit deal. Usually once a year there's a crazy deal and the material is much better than JAB. But thanks for posting none the less, there hasn't been a 100% wool suit deal in a long time.

Yeah, having a suit tailored properly can be pricey. Having the pants hemmed on an off-the-rack suit doesn't count as a tailored fit. I'll often try to get away with that if I can find a good enough fit, but I have no delusions of having a perfectly fitting suit. That would almost always require some other adjustments. My need for a suit is only occasional though.
