On the other hand, someone taking a number of the same products and rating them directly against each other gives another more relative and open perspective.
Each has its pluses and minuses, but I'd favor the competitive review over the single purchase review.
There's always a place for these types of routers in the shop. I won't make the argument that cordless is always better either, because if you're hooked up to dust collection then why can't you hook up to power.
I can't speak for the other reviews except that it's probably a case of "wow this is my first router, it's pretty cool" syndrome.
Pretty great review of all the options that backs up what he said.

I also have a Colt and to be honest, I don't care which one I grab. They both get the job done just fine.
Let people say whatever they want. I have a few of these and they each have a specific job and the bits and adjustment dont change. One runs a bottom bearing flush trim, one runs a 1/8 roundover and one runs a spiral upcut for trenching. They're reliable and cheap.
I have had some adjustment issues but that generally means that I did not properly adjust the sleeve tightness. Locked is locked tight, open is where any and all adjustments are made. I Only need to adjust for bit change so I dont really care about the precision of the mechanism.
I almost bought another of these sets because I do the same with my sanders, I have sanders dedicated to paper weights and I just move down the shelf while finishing.
