Aren't these really old components

Agreed. It's been an awsome budget card. It's been good to me at 1080p. This seems like a decent deal for someone that doesn't have interest in building their own pc.

Getting rid of old stock. They had RGB blinged it out to convince you enough and nice enough to give you a 600w gold unit. The 3100 4c/8t is decent and overall great for anyone that doesn't have a PC.

If you were to DIY, you get way more performance with the RX 6600 and get a free copy of Starfield. Skip the 4100 and look for a 5500 deal that was $80 not too long ago or find a used 3600.

PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JpQ8Rv

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 4100 3.8 GHz Quad-Core Processor ($63.94 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: MSI B450M PRO-VDH MAX Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($74.98 @ Amazon)
Memory: Silicon Power GAMING 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory ($29.97 @ Amazon)
Storage: Silicon Power A60 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive ($34.97 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Gigabyte EAGLE Radeon RX 6600 8 GB Video Card ($180.00)
Case: Thermaltake Versa H18 MicroATX Mini Tower Case ($43.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: Apevia Prestige 600 W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply ($52.00)
Total: $479.85
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

I would grab one of these and call it a day. The HP is a decent but you lose half of the SSD, RAM and weaker GPU and $157 more for the 10400 is simply not worth it. The 1660 Super is about 20% better than the 6500XT. Although, you do get a better CPU in the HP. On the AM4 platform, you have options to upgrade the Ryzen 3 3100 to a 5600/X, 5700X, 5600X3D(MicroCenter), 5800X3D if you need extra CPU power down the line. And with the updated CPU, along with a 600w PSU, if you need more FPS and play at 1440p/4K, I recommend a RX 6700XT/6750XT 12GB or possibly a RX 6800 16GB since both use similar power or next gen RX/RTX. Grab the Skytech Blaze 3 if you want the best/most performance of the 3.
Thanks! Unfortunately the Blaze 2 and Blaze 3 look like they are out of stock...

Anyone have suggestions for other systems to look at for ~$750?

Is this a 100% new build? What OS did you go with, and at what cost?
Last I knew, you can use windows 10 for free without registration and personalization options, but have to deal with a watermark. Otherwise, last I purchased windows keys they were about $10.

3 years from initial announcement.
This particular sku, yes April of 2020 but it was the bottom of the product stack and MSRP was $99 then.

The 3000 series released just over 4 years ago. Imo, even with other parts considered, this is too much for such an old computer with low end parts even for then

1660S is still a pretty good card for 1080p but I would swap it out for a 3060 maybe a year down the line
Paid about $700 and built mine with a 3060 16gb ram ryzen 5 - this is trash. Lol

No, but I don't have the time to build one for her and the price difference between pcs with and without a gpu aren't all that great. She's not going to use for much more than storing photos and basic Microsoft office needs and if any of the grandkids use it for playing something having a dedicated card will come on handy.

For office, non gaming system, take a look at a refurbished dell i5 for about $135.

This is basically e-waste the build. Old and low performance CPU and GPU, and you only get a 90 day warranty.

Do yourself a favor and just get a 12100F + Arc A750 or 6600XT, the total will be similar, much higher performance, and an upgrade path for the CPU to 13th and 14th gen as well has higher end CPUs.
