Aren't these really old components
Agreed. It's been an awsome budget card. It's been good to me at 1080p. This seems like a decent deal for someone that doesn't have interest in building their own pc.
Getting rid of old stock. They had RGB blinged it out to convince you enough and nice enough to give you a 600w gold unit. The 3100 4c/8t is decent and overall great for anyone that doesn't have a PC.

If you were to DIY, you get way more performance with the RX 6600 and get a free copy of Starfield. Skip the 4100 and look for a 5500 deal that was $80 not too long ago or find a used 3600.

How are the factory reconditioned units from Woot? Trying to find a pc for my mother in law between 700-900.

For office, non gaming system, take a look at a refurbished dell i5 for about $135.

This is basically e-waste the build. Old and low performance CPU and GPU, and you only get a 90 day warranty.

Do yourself a favor and just get a 12100F + Arc A750 or 6600XT, the total will be similar, much higher performance, and an upgrade path for the CPU to 13th and 14th gen as well has higher end CPUs.

This is worth $300 max prebuilt. Doesn't even have an M.2 ssd and 1660 S is ancient in gpu time.

Always surprised by the snobby comments on these posts. Yes, its deeply discounted because parts are 3-4 years old. But heck, even my 2k+ rig is running on a 5 year old cpu (8700k). For someone who is getting into pc gaming and has a strict 500$ budget, this a pretty decent deal - particularly if you don't want to build. 1660s are still 200-240$ themselves.

That being said, yes - may want to see if you can spend a little more if looking for upgrading this because the cpu is pretty barebones - but if wanting a budget rig for 2-4 years, think you can play a good bit on it.

While looking at the woot site, I found a MSI i7/32gb/3070/1tb SSD Desktop [woot.com] selling for $600! I wanted a laptop but for $600, I couldn't pass it up.

How does this compare with an Xbox Series X in terms of capability?
If all you're interested in is gaming with a controller, then stick with your Series X -- it'll be far and away better suited to that task.

Go with the HP Victus 5700G/6600XT/32GB for $600 at Woot.
How is this so cheap? Is this a brand-new one? I don't know about building-pc world, but I just looked it up on Amazon, same CPU and GPU combo is already almost the same price with this PC. How is this possible? Can someone please explain this to a newbie? Thank you.

Thanks for the deal. I bought 3 for my office. That's one of the cheaper systems with a graphics card and decent wattage power supply I've come across.

No, but I don't have the time to build one for her and the price difference between pcs with and without a gpu aren't all that great. She's not going to use for much more than storing photos and basic Microsoft office needs and if any of the grandkids use it for playing something having a dedicated card will come on handy.
Unpopular opinion - if she wants something that the grandkids can play games on in a pinch this isn't the worst choice ever. The 1660s will game well enough for those purposes. And she'll probably want something new. She may even like the RGB. That said, the HP Victus 15L recertified on Woot is in a different league for $100 more.

Of course, a $150 mini PC will cover for everything but the grandkids gaming no problem.

Damn, great deal, too bad it's sold out.

The CPU and GPU alone probably cost $600. Not to mentioned it's 32GB RAM and 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD, etc.
