I just bought a Master Touch from Ace hardware. The only real difference between them is the bracket that holds the lid for you I believe. I wanted the bracket otherwise this is as good of a deal as you'll find on a Weber this time of year.

Another difference, although minor, is that the Master Touch has plastic/rubber piece on the top vent, so that you can adjust the vent while cooking without burning your finger. The non-Master Touch ones don't include that, and so you need to remember to use tongs or to wear gloves when adjusting the top vent.

Is this better than those barrel grills that are cheaper from other brands? Alot of people say to buy this Weber kettle. Do those barrels perform the same way in terms of cooking? I'm uncertain why people prefer kettle when the barrels have more functions like side tables or separate smoker?

In terms of cooking almost all are same.


The reason the kettle is recommended is cause you can just rotate the grill cause it's round and easy to do with your tongs to move your food if using 2 zone methods of cooking instead of having to keep moving food around.
