Just leaving this comment here for the benefit of others - This is the Edge (Mediatek processor) and not the Edge + with the Snapdragon processor.

Call 833-428-1765 for Costco TMobile and you don't even have to go to the store at all. I did this deal on Sunday.

Has anyone been able to drop off trade-ins at a T-Mobile store? (Old tracfones)
Mine gets hung up on a Select Provider option that doesn't list the 2023 Moto Edge Promo as an option, only the older 2022 Moto promos.
Or should I just print the shipping labels and send them in?
Some people in this thread managed to get a T-Mobile store to accept their trade ins.

Stores usually don't want to accept trade ins because they might get burned on a trade in. Employees don't want to risk it

In this case, it's not because employees don't like to take trade-in phones. The T-Mobile trade-in system is currently broken for the old phones that don't automatically load manufacturer/model/carrier which means its exact manufacturer/model/carrier is not in T-Mobile's database and you had to select "only moto edge 230021" as the manufacturer/model/carrier when you placed your order.
My local T-Mobile employee was very nice and we even tried a test using a dummy iphone's imei and the drop down list to select manufacturer/model/carrier was showing but after we changed the imei to the tracfone flip phone, the drop-down list to select manufacturer/model/carrier doesn't load (kind of greyed out) and there was no way to select "only moto edge 230021" and we got stuck there.

My local T-Mobile employee still took my trade-in phones and they printed out the shipping labels, packaged them and let usps pick up them from the t-mobile store.
They also told me that this bug might be fixed in the next few days.

Which plans qualify for this? They aren't exactly clear on that.

I know how to unlock the bootloader by getting the code from Motorola. Anyone rooted this device? I see there is no forum in XDA for Moto Edge 2022 (because of Mediatek?).

Anyone rooted this device? If yes, can you please post the instructions here. Thanks.

do you have to mail in your trade in or can the kiosk accept the trade in?
The Kiosk cannot accept it but any T-Mobile store can. I am returning both my trade-ins today.

The phone is great. 0 lag, better than expected camera and battery life is incredible due to battery size. Gaming on it is good as well. Absolutely crazy deal for a free phone.

I did the deal at costco on Fri, then on Mon i went to t-mobile store to return it. As others say they hesitate and told me that phone has to be in good condition, power on and so, i said there is imei on the sim card slot and thats what i got the deal for, just accept the phone. then she is like i will just accept it if anything else come up you have to go deal with costco not her and bla bla bla. I make sure they put the imei and get the receipt. I should've just printed the shipping label and mailed it out myself. Treat like i am robbing them !

As it turns out, the store accepted my trade-in but selected the 2022 Only Moto tradein option and advised me to let them know if any issues arise, and they will call CS to explain the situation if the credits don't appear on the bill.

They printed the shipping labels, attached them to the trade-ins and gave me a receipt showing they received them.

YMMV though on whether or not your local store will do likewise.

If the IMEI matches with phone, then it should be ok

When doing with Costco on the phone, do they need to send text message to the phone to confirm a PIN? Or just confirming the details (SSN, etc.) is enough?

Thanks. I just noted something else.

The first order was submitted for 2 trades. After that, he submitted the next order but used 1 of the same numbers from the first order. He had to cancel this order and make a new order. Not sure if the canceled order MEID's will have some issues regarding the monthly credits.

Texts received on 2 lines have 2 texts with different MEID's

Hopefully the promo sticks once T-Mobile receives the trade in devices.

Am I the only one got return shipping labels for trade in by USPS? I thought they will issue UPS ones?
No big deal but just checking...usps is a little further away for me

USPS is your local post office. All labels are USPS. In the past, UPS locations did accept USPS mail.
