so, the final cost after taxes and fees to port in for '23 was about $360.

$200 for the edge plus 2023 + $35 activation fee + $50 plan + $70 tax (calculated from MSRP price).

$355 + $5 for unlock code from dr.unlock makes the '23 edge+ a $360 purchase.

Personally, I don't know if this is $150 better than the '22 deal, but just wanted people to know.

Ported in from metro mobile from a nord n30 deal the other day, I was surprised they let me transfer from a new prepaid account to theirs.
today.
the 2023 e+ [while a very nice phone indeed] is 250 more than the 2022 e+.

Wasn't a fan, doesn't have much use for media or gaming like I'd assume a 6.5" screen would because it's like two inches wide, no joke. The dimensions of a phone should be closer to a piece of paper rather than a widescreen movie.
this has a 6.7 inch screen.
perhaps u are thinking of a different phone.

I know it's a big step down but an unlocked Moto Edge 2022 @$250 is a good deal for those that don't want to deal with Boost and unlocking and prepaid cards and headaches

Goodness their shipping is painfully slow. In both processing time and speed. They ship ground.

I put in an order Saturday morning and it hasn't been shipped yet. I originally had an issue paying with PayPal but after a few times it worked. Got an order number and confirmation. But no shipping confirmation yet. They said orders made during the weekend would have to wait until the following Monday but it has not shipped.

I will wait and see what happens tomorrow
Update: I also ordered on Saturday. Got my shipping confirmation today at 8am PST. Hope you also get your confirmation!

carrier subsidzed edge+ may go lower, but unlocked version or easy unlockable version won't be lower any time soon

All of these steps make sense and this is what I've previously been familiar with (I've owned and flashed a lot of different Motorola's over the years going back to an old Moto G Play in 2016).

The issue I think is the unlocked bootloader. Buying a carrier branded phone to my knowledge means it will always be bootloader locked. We can sim unlock it with a code on an auction site but this won't functionally unlock the bootloader.

What is keeping me away from this phone is the Boost variant still only showing A12 ROMs. https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmw.../official/ [lolinet.com]
Does it mean that this mobile would never receive an OTA update once unlocked?

I received mine today (6/23/23 manufacture date). I unlocked on first boot with a tracfone sim in. No problems with the unlock but I didn't try any connections - just powered it down.

After that I put in my Red Pocket CDMA (verizon mvno) sim from the phone I wanted to replace. I tried everything I could think of and couldn't get anything to work. No data, texts, outbound phone calls went to a call center. I checked the APN and it matched my old phone exactly. I let it sit for the afternoon and it was a no go. I didn't try to go through Red Pocket customer service as I am managing my blood pressure and they don't help with that.

I should note the IMEI didn't pass the Verizon or Visible byop check and I'm not sure if that matters. Red Pocket also states you can't use Boost phones.

So I popped in my wife's Red Pocket GMSA (att mvno) sim and it all worked instantly. Not a single issue. Also Cricket's IMEI check said I could use their network as well.

So, instead of my wife getting my old phone to replace her broken phone I guess she gets the new fancy one. I don't see any Boost branding during loading or any Boost installed applications.

If anyone has input on how I could have gotten it to work with Red Pocket CDMA I'd love to hear it.

you need 4 verizon apn settings
My phone is a T-Mobile unlocked phone, and I'm using it without any problems with those 4 Verizon apn settings.
