Looks a good deal for the specs. I want, but don't need 😂
But what's up with AceMagician being spammed on Slickdeals? I saw in another thread that people ordered a different AceMagician over a month ago and haven't received anything…

I'm very curious if they have updated their chassis. I have the 5600U version of this system and it's stock TDP is only 15W but it still manages to get into the high 80's and low 90's in terms of temp just from running any kind of program that is even remotely heavy. the BIOS does allow you to raise the TDP up to 25W which is around the sweet spot to get the most performance out of both the iGPU and CPU. Raising the TDP causes the system to just overheat constantly though and it gets extremely loud. It isn't exactly quiet when it's at stock 15W, but you need to push the iGPU or the CPU to really get it to spin up. In normal use it's pretty silent. at 25W, the spike on one core of opening up a web browser was enough to raise the temp so that the fan went into overdrive. Opening up a game or a render task will just have it screaming at you. that's with 6 CPU cores and 7 GPU cores. If the chassis and cooling system is still the same, I can't imagine it will be great with an 8 core CPU and 8 core GPU. 15W is already pretty gimped on the R5, an R7 is just gonna be starving.

my concern is more about why they are selling it on amazon instead of their own site. why not just give us all 15% off on top of this and list them on their site to avoid the middle man amazon

Yhis is from Amazon, not from their site. So, they have to follo Amazon's policy for delivery date and returns.

Could you tell me how to turn up the watts? I have that same machine. I really like it. I play a few games on low. Would like to up the frame rate a bit if possible. Or maybe it's a bad idea?

A lot more potential clients in Amazon.
And for the buyer it's safer to buy it from Amazon than some random site.

not happened with bestbuy or newegg. amazon charges alot for selling electronics. i dont see bestbuy or any big chain electronic stores selling their items on amazon. only ebay.
Only buy these if it's shipped by Amazon. Whoever is shipping them out from that cell phone repair place in NY (direct purchase) is doing a horrible job.
1. not convincing enough. are they going to get rid them asap despite losing more money? the more you sell on amazon, the more money you are losing. they dont even have any in hand right now. so its not overstocked or anything.
2. we are speaking from the sellers perspective here. amazon will hold your money longer and you will have to honor amazon a-z return policy which is pretty tough.
Amazon has reputation and discoverability on its side. I as a buyer am more likely to buy from Amazon than random Chinese storefront, because:
I'm more likely to find the item organically while searching around for other tech stuff on Amazon.
I am paying through Amazon and don't have to trust my credit card info to random third-party site.
Any dispute I have about the item will be handled through Amazon, and not anonymous inbox that may choose not to reply if I send them an email that I received a lemon.
If the seller has go fork over 15% to Amazon for every item sold, then that's just the cost of doing business. You setup shop where people do their shopping.

thats what we are thinking. as a buyer. but definately not on the sellers end.
i think its more about the retail box space. they just dont want to lose it to amazon. ebay is more like a swapshop. that could be a reason why bestbuy does not want to do any business with amazon.
