You really got me excited and now you got me really upset. If
If you can wait, get a 1/2" brushless impact, as it just does all that 3/8 can do, and more. No sense in being upset over saving money and space, since once you get the 1/2 the 3/8 would not get used.

Im still rocking my Makita 18v nimh system from nearly 25 years ago. The drills, saws, and vac wont die.
But the ebay batts are heavy and I feel left in the stone age.
Heard good things about Ryobi being a good cost/benefit ecosystem. Time to take the plunge?
I do hate that green, may need to get a rattle can of makita blue!
They are good tools, but watch for Ridgid sales. They have a lifetime replacement warranty, even on the batteries. That's what sold me.

As a side note, MAKE SURE YOU REGISTER THE TOOLS WITHIN 90 DAYS AFTER PURCHASE WITH RIDGID. I have a couple burnt up Ridgid tools wasting space in the garage.
A coworkers house just burned down due to a Ryobi battery. Not even being charged at the time. Spontaneous.
Not that I don't believe you, but any evidence? News story? I have 10x M18, ~10x M12, and 12x LXT batteries. Never had even a hint of an issue. That being said, Li-Ion batteries can be super scary when they fail (case in point f*cking house burned down :-( ). How was it traced to the battery? I was volunteer fire for a few years, and often the cause of fire was indeterminate when a whole house was toasted unless occupants or witnesses saw something before they evacuated.

HA! Now that's not very SlickDeals-like... 25 year old stuff?? Good for you, honestly. More $$ in your f*cking pocket. Love to hear of old stuff still in use. Some dimwit in this thread commented about another users Dyson V6 being ancient. SO, LOL?? Does it work? Yes? End of story . Keep rocking the NiMh.
Some comments are saying it's "hackable", how exactly would that work? Returning the batteries?
Yes. Very common with home depot deals where tools and/or batteries are 'free' but listed as two items. Can return one of the listed items to effectively get a discount on the other, depending on your need.
Works with other tool brands, too.
If you ship to store you can even cancel the item you don't need from the edit order page.

But I do not think it is brushless.

WRONG. ~8 years old. Also, irrelevant. If it suits the user, then good for them. More money in their pocket.
