They must be sitting on storage like crazy for the prices to come down that bad. Not even a year ago I paid like 120 bucks for 1TB ...
For those wondering, Yes this one works on PS5.

I Bought this same one in March of 2022 and it's worked perfectly.

Showed up with a speed of 5500MB

Not just this but many SSD came down so much recently, maybe flash technology is moving forward, probably something big is coming.

Maybe I had a lemon but i had one of these (not this exact one but same brand) died on me in an enclosure so YMMV just sharing so that people who uses this for important stuff might consider are more reliable brand like Crucial, Samsung etc...

Do I get any benefit putting this on a PCIe gen 3 motherboard over another FAST 2tb Gen 3 nvme?

Has nothing to do with gen 5. Had more to do with the surplus and no demand anymore.

I got this for my PS5 a couple months ago. Seems to be working fine so far. It's nice having the extra storage so I don't have to delete games to make room for others.

PCIe 3 is 4GB/s, highest 2tb pcie 3 nvme in reasonable price i found has max read speed is 3GB/s.

But this one will give me 4GB/s, which the max of PCIe 3, right? Still better than pcie 3 nvme!

Be weary I ran into a lot of reports of failed drives with Adata when I was looking for my ps5 from Reddit and other places. I don't have links but the info wasn't hard to find. This drive is rated well on Amazon though so maybe it's sorted, I did read that the customer service for getting broken drives was also not great.
