PSA: Just a warning but I had a pair of these and the rubberized plastic handle started melted off and became a gooey mess. Not sure if it's the environment they were stored it but they were hardly ever used and stored in my garage and outside closet for a long time. If you look at the reviews, there are multiple accounts of this happening to others.
Because eventually those cutters on the pliers get dull, they are typically made for mono or flourocarbon. I always have a pair of braid scissors.

I have a couple from the last deal. Nice product, durable and cuts well (braid, mono, Fluor). Only thing is I can never find them when I need them

I have something like these, whatever it is they sell in Walmart. They're amazing. Totally worth the $3 I think I paid in 2020.

If you're using anything other than special braid scissors for braid, please get a pair of these. You might think that your swiss army/sewing/nail clipper/bandage scissors/whatever the heck is working just perfect, but odds are that these are going to be way better (easier and cleaner cutting), and maybe even smaller and lighter.
These cut a perfectly squared end on any line (because of the way the micro teeth work), without having to hold the line with tension using your other hand/mouth. If you don't think that those situations apply to you, then you aren't thinking hard enough, because everyone that fishes has done something wacky when trying to cut and tie line.
They're also small, meaning that they fit in places where other scissors don't. My previous scissors (Fiskar smallies) had to go in the bigger pocket of my waist-worn tackle bag, where I keep hooks and weights. Now, they are in one of my many tiny pockets, about the size of a fun-sized snickers.

As to the melting handles: check where you keep them or what it touches. Some soft baits have the effect of melting dissimilar plastics (think Zman, Creme, etc).

Have two pair of these dedicated to our long-haired cat, who gets mats and knots under his armpits and belly during the winter. They're small and easy to control, the serrated blade is perfect for the fur, and the rounded tip prevents risk of stabbing. Obviously not the intended use case, but I highly recommend them for any pet owners with this issue.

How did you manage to get the rest of the rubber off? I don't even want to try because it just seems like it'll be super messy. I don't even know what I did with that pair...

Once I discovered this brand, I never went back. I especially like the small mountable ones in the 2nd link because you are always looking around for a line cutter otherwise.

I bought these last year off here.. I've used them for everything, but fishing. Lol never made it to my tackle box and got more use around the house. They are holding up just fine and very sharp.

This was a reply to different poster I, amended and replied to this post with (Victorinox - scissors I use) Swiss army reference.
I've never seen them more than $4
They are great though I have a couple. Bit small finger holes.

As for Swiss Army knife; I've been using the same (couple) Swiss army knife scissors to cut braid like it was nothing for more than 25 to 30 yrs still cuts like nothing there... Also cuts my nails.
Also have Rapala, salt strong (some generic) and a few others I don't know brand. They work better than most pliers for braid.
I had some pliers I forget what maker... Sorta look like a duck head parallel Jaws. They had some real nice replaceable cutters. Those were stolen a long time ago and the new versions are nowhere near as good. Probably best fishing pliers minus some $500 or so misc whatever BS.

I do agree with state of pliers even most expensive ones... Definitely should have braid scissors.
