About this item:
  • THX Certified Ultra: THX engineers completed hundreds of different scientific tests to ensure the highest audio performance possible. The tests ensure the speaker can reach the high volumes necessary to achieve THX Reference Level without creating audible distortion or artifacts. THX Certified Ultra products are for large sized rooms, up to 3,000 cubic feet in size, with a 10 12 foot viewing distance from the screen.
  • 15" Woofer: The Monolith 15" driver was developed from the ground up, with a design focus on achieving output, accuracy, dynamics, and linearity, while minimizing distortion. Enclosed in a cabinet made from HDF material, massive internal bracing, and outfitted with three ports that can utilize foam plugs to run the subwoofer in a sealed mode.
  • 1000 Watt Amplifier: The 1000W RMS amplifier is built around a Texas Instruments 48โ€‘bit data path (with 28โ€‘bit filter coefficients) and DSP engine. Each amplifier's transfer function, power output limiting, and thermal protection are monitored to the millisecond and are customized for each individual driver. The high efficiency Class D amplifier modules are based on a proven topology that has been continuously refined over the past 6 years. The amplifier has vast reserves of power for highly
  • Cabinet and Internal Bracing: HDF (High Density Fiberboard), not MDF, was utilized resulting in a sonically inert cabinet. Ordered one 15 mins ago and came here to see if someone posted this deal. I was eyeing it on sale for $1200 and almost pulled the trigger. Happened to see this coupon on the main page before I checked out. At $949 its hard to beat this kind of performance. If you are in the market for a subwoofer of this size, please review the dimensions and weight. It's a giant at 133lb and much larger than your standard 10" or 12" ported sub.
hey wait, acre isn't a measure of dista.... you know what, nevermind

I was also considering this heavily at the ~1200 because my old sub didn't survive a house move. Well, at 950, this is a no-brainer. It's nearly as low as it's ever been, and I don't want to expect that I can save 30 bucks or something and then miss out.

I have a massive space for this thing to fill, and I imagine I'll want a second one down the line. For now, I'll be content with one, and enjoy my innards rumbling.

Anyone viewing this that isn't really familiar with these subs:
Go look at the measurements for the size of this sub. It's not just some electronic box, it's like a piece of furniture. It's much larger than you probably think it is. I also hope you have a dolly of some sort to move it, at ~130lbs. That weight is not a con, it's a feature. You want big subs to be heavy because it means they're well braced and their material is dense to minimize internal resonant frequencies.

Coupon appears to work for orders over $1000

Open box models qualify for the coupon, but not for free shipping.

Damn, 130 Lbs. Serious business lol. I've never had luck with heavy stuff coming UPS or Fedex. Which would be my only concern getting this.

I had a sets of tower speakers that had to get delivered 3x each and finally just accepted the damage on one for a discount because it was over a month and half process returning and getting new ones. Those were only about 80lbs each.

I have 2 of the version 1s, one was destroyed, used from guitar center. Purchased a V2 and it keeps blinking, needing unplugged on every use. Put a smart plug on it and gtg. Don't regret any of my purchases but just be aware these are known to have bad amps. Mine still going strong after a yr....

I have this partly because it's awesome and partly because it was too expensive to send back for a return once my wife discovered how big it is. It's an end table. It's slightly taller than the arm of our couch.
