About this item:
THX Certified Ultra: THX engineers completed hundreds of different scientific tests to ensure the highest audio performance possible. The tests ensure the speaker can reach the high volumes necessary to achieve THX Reference Level without creating audible distortion or artifacts. THX Certified Ultra products are for large sized rooms, up to 3,000 cubic feet in size, with a 10 12 foot viewing distance from the screen.
15" Woofer: The Monolith 15" driver was developed from the ground up, with a design focus on achieving output, accuracy, dynamics, and linearity, while minimizing distortion. Enclosed in a cabinet made from HDF material, massive internal bracing, and outfitted with three ports that can utilize foam plugs to run the subwoofer in a sealed mode.
1000 Watt Amplifier: The 1000W RMS amplifier is built around a Texas Instruments 48‑bit data path (with 28‑bit filter coefficients) and DSP engine. Each amplifier's transfer function, power output limiting, and thermal protection are monitored to the millisecond and are customized for each individual driver. The high efficiency Class D amplifier modules are based on a proven topology that has been continuously refined over the past 6 years. The amplifier has vast reserves of power for highly
Cabinet and Internal Bracing: HDF (High Density Fiberboard), not MDF, was utilized resulting in a sonically inert cabinet. Internal bracing has been strategically placed to increase overall cabinet strength and limit unwanted panel vibrations that would cause discoloration and distortion. The strong cabinet and bracing combine to ensure you hear massive amounts of bass, not cabinet resonances.
All Amp'd Up: The Monolith subwoofer amplifier has an extraordinarily high power output of 1000 watts RMS (1800 watts peak), which can deliver massive amounts of power when needed. Each Class D amplifier is built around a Texas Instruments 48 bit data path (with 28 bit filter coefficients) DSP engine, allowing virtually unlimited design flexibility with the assurance of no signal degradation.

Ordered one 15 mins ago and came here to see if someone posted this deal. I was eyeing it on sale for $1200 and almost pulled the trigger. Happened to see this coupon on the main page before I checked out. At $949 its hard to beat this kind of performance. If you are in the market for a subwoofer of this size, please review the dimensions and weight. It's a giant at 133lb and much larger than your standard 10" or 12" ported sub.
TU'd
I was also considering this heavily at the ~1200 because my old sub didn't survive a house move. Well, at 950, this is a no-brainer. It's nearly as low as it's ever been, and I don't want to expect that I can save 30 bucks or something and then miss out.
I have a massive space for this thing to fill, and I imagine I'll want a second one down the line. For now, I'll be content with one, and enjoy my innards rumbling.
Anyone viewing this that isn't really familiar with these subs:
Go look at the measurements for the size of this sub. It's not just some electronic box, it's like a piece of furniture. It's much larger than you probably think it is. I also hope you have a dolly of some sort to move it, at ~130lbs. That weight is not a con, it's a feature. You want big subs to be heavy because it means they're well braced and their material is dense to minimize internal resonant frequencies.
I am not a audiophile. I have Polk lsim series (front 705 , center 706) speakers. This 15inch is too big for my setup. My receiver has two subs. Is it a good setup to buy two 10inches rather than 1 15 inch?

It depends. The 15 inch will most likely dig deeper (hz) compared to 2 10s. But if you have a wide seating area and you place the two tens optimally, you would have reduced nulls.
If you are listening to music, there are few songs that go subsonic frequency (<30hz), but if you are watching movies, you want a sub that digs deeper so you can "feel" the impact from things like explosions.

Is there a place I can find dimensions of 10 inch sub? I searched for it in the manual but no luck.
Found it: 19.7"x15"x18.9" (lxwxh)

hey wait, acre isn't a measure of dista.... you know what, nevermind
Lol. I dont know how far away they are but we are all on 5 acre parcels haha. FIgured it would get the point across that we arent right next to each other.
This is a real subwoofer with great specs and a great price. If you have a medium size room, get two and you will never have to worry about upgrading again.. Don't be like me who wasted money on several subwoofers only to yearn for more skin tingling base. I finally settled on two JTR subs and I'm now done!.

Yes. I have the same setup and it sounds great. My biggest concern was how they would sound with music. Movies are fairly easy but music reveals everything. They are actually pretty punchy and sound great with music.
It's always better to buy two subs then one. It's not about volume. It's about even bass distribution. My room is only 11 x14.
Been waiting for a good price to add another PB 16 Ultra, but at this price I may fight with room corrections and placement and get this instead. This is a lot of sub for the money

It was a nightmare getting foreign tech support to honor the warranty since I bought mine from their Amazon store.
