In past years, Samsung require direct signature. This time around, this requirement is not shown. Direct signature is good for security reason but the bad thing is no one will be home to sign. Frown
There was an option to select signature required while checking out.

That isn't the only catch. The catch is that they give you the discount spread out over 36 months as a bill credit as well. So instead of it being, say, $22.23/mo for 36 months adding up to $800, it'll be a charge of $50/mo with a credit for $27.77/mo to equal out to you only paying $22.23/mo. This becomes important when you want to upgrade your phone before 3 years is up; you will only have captured part of the savings because you'll lose all the remaining bill credits by paying your device off in full before trading in.
Not completely true. Your bill credits remain when you trade your device in elsewhere - like Samsung. You just continue to keep that line and pay for it, and you get the full credit of the device, no problem.

For someone like me who has 5 lines, I can rotate which line gets a new device, then have VZ swap the sim/lines on the devices to whoever gets the new phone.

hmm total $637.51 for the fold with employee discount and s22 ultra trade in. Biggest concern is the size for my small hands.
Who employs you?

I traded up to the Flip 4 last year using that Verizon trade-in "deal" so I've still got like 2 years of credits trickling in monthly. If I trade through Samsung for an Unlocked Flip 5 this time, does that avoid them dumping the rest of my bill credits? Or am I still screwed?
You can trade in the phone with samsung and continue the credits with Verizon as long as you keep that Verizon acct / line in good standing and don't do any upgrades on that line with dpp directly with Verizon. Just swap the Sim when you receive the new phone and viola!

My personal experience with Fedex. They had never made me sign anything even though all the item said "signature required". They just dropped it by the front door and faked my signature.

Do not have screen protector anymore. Removed maybe 5 months ago... Just multiple scratches.
Oh I see, well I believe it's considered normal wear and tear especially since it's a foldable and the scratches are right at the crease. Also the scratches don't appear to cause any pixel nor screen distortions that would usually be considered physical damage.

If unsure, I would reach out to Samsung customer care and submit those images to them to see what they tell you in regards. Document everything so as to cover yourself just in case.

Sadly, many drivers, regardless of carrier, do this in many different places. I've complained about this behavior and I've been told that they're allowed to do this at the driver's discretion if they deam the drop off location as safe. I think it's ridiculous nonetheless as the option is available to prevent this in the first place.

Phone is expected to be here on 11th. Is it safe to ship your trade in before you get your phone?
