why add sugar to these. Banana chips are savory chips. My local Winco has these for $4 a pound. cheaper than this deal. If you have an indian store near you you might get these fried in coconut oil which is even better (and healthier) imo.

is there a banana shortage? would rather eat fresh.
Fresh will be tough to get when the apocalypse hits. This at least gives you something sweet in your dying moments.

Walmart only offers a sweetened version that tastes like a$$. ALDIs has a great unsweetened version that's also cheap.

Banana chips, nuts, pita chips and hummus are my go tos for late afternoon snacking

unless my math is wrong, this is cheaper at Walmart

This is 33 ounces for $10. And the link you're showing is $10.44 for 3 bags of the same adding up to 36 ounces. It's almost the same. I would take this deal because it can be stored longer. This company in general makes great canned products and they can often be expensive.

Ingredients: Banana slices, refined coconut oil, sugar, banana flavoring

Added sugar, added oil, added "flavoring"... No thanks, banana chips need one ingredient.

Yeah I wouldn't buy these for snacking. These are meant to be stored for a decade or more and used in case of an emergency.

It already is. Saturated fat is not the evil the propaganda would have you believe [frontiersin.org].

On the other hand, vegetable oils and processed foods that stood to gain from vilifying saturated fats....
Yeah the obesity epidemic is largely thanks to nutritional quackery pushed by the government and food conglomerates for decades, as well as the "low fat" craze. When I was growing up in the 70s the base of the food pyramid included 6-10 servings of bread, rice, pasta, etc. Insert Wilford Brinkley DIABEETUS meme here…

Even last week at a wellness checkup I had a young (and overweight!) nurse trying to tell me that I shouldn't eat butter and eggs because it will raise my cholesterol and cause heart disease. I gave her a frigging earful as only a pissed-off middle aged man can.

This is for the potassium your muscles will need running away from zombies.
Fun fact: The daily recommended amount of potassium is something like 4,000mg, depending on the group recommending it. A banana contains something like 400mg. I have never in my life eaten 10 bananas a week, much less a day. This whole can contains 5,324mg, so you'd have to consume just under 1 can a day. There are more potassium-rich foods, but we're still talking about eating like 4 cups of apricots or 7 cups of lentils a day, also ridiculous.

Keep in mind this is a pretty regular price for this according to CamelCamel.

Hah, I eat a stick of butter and at least 3 raw eggs a day in whole raw milk and have excellent blood-work and BMI.
Look at who funds many of the books that are in medical school curriculum and the shady studies demonizing fat and praising cereal. Big Pharma and General Mills...

On topic, the only reason I'm not buying this is the added sugar and "banana flavoring" lol. Coconut oil is perfectly fine health-wise. Even IF saturated fat were unhealthy, this is the type of saturated fat (medium-chain triglycerides) that you readily burn for energy and isn't supposed to increase cholesterol.

Your linked resources come from groups like Children Health Defense which spout anti vaccine garbage. Majority of scientists studying dietary impact on health agree high levels of saturated fats are not good for you. So GTFO trying to quote garbage as fact.
