Too many variables to make that claim.
How sensitive are your speakers?
How far away from them do you sit?
How big is your room?
How live/dead is your room?
How loud do you listen?
Are you relieving your main speakers from the hard job of producing deep bass by using a subwoofer(s)?

Separately, unless I couldn't plug all my HDMI 2.1 sources (if I had any, which I don't ...I'm not a gamer) into my TV and use ARC to get audio back to the AVR, I'd find a older used AVR with Audyssey XT32 for a similar price. I've yet to hear a system that Audyssey didn't improve greatly. There's a nice x3500 with all the accessories from a long time 100% feedback seller on eBay right now for the price of this AVR. 1 yr warranty is $50. If there are any problems with it they'd likely surface within that time.

Seems like Denon receivers in the last few years have a lot of pared down features. My X-5200W from like 2015 still sells used for the price that I bought brand new ($1,000). For me to get the inputs and features (like 12v triggers, etc) I'd have to move up to a $1,700 to $2,000 range.

Am I over exaggerating - or are wall just quietly going w. the flow...

Where are you getting that $1000 price? This x5200w with 10 bidders sold for $365...

I think just change of times & making them more stream lined.
With the cutting the cord, soundbars, streaming many of those options
aren't needed anymore.

Like who needs 12v triggers nowadays, not a big selling point.

Can't find it - saw it somewhere for sold at $800 + like $200 shipping. The one you linked has a bad HDMI port. Granted it's in the front, but still.

Yea. I saw that the front hdmi port had an issue. Never saw the use for one of those. Otherwise it seemed like a good buy with all the accessories included and 1 yr warranty for an additional $50. I suspect it would need to be a brand new sealed box unit to get anywhere close the $1000 you claimed.

It's more than enough for a medium size room.

This is a decent price, but given that this is a two year old model and the S970 was going for $399, new, a week ago, this a lukewarm deal.

the 80w rating is done with 2 channels: Power Output 8 ohm, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, 0.08% 2ch Drive

when you run all 7 channels the output is going to be far less (Approx. 45-55w per channel)

I guess you have more market analysis than Denon themselves. They have 12v on the
AVR-X3800H and higher models.

I don't remember what it was - but was shocked. Was almost tempted to upgrade, but too much hassle. Finally have everything working as I want it.

To clarify a 12v trigger(wish it had at least one more) on the the 3800 makes sense.

On this receiver, I'm not sure it's worth adding it which would up the price also.
I'm guessing that's why Denon did not add it but it is just my educated guess.

It seems like this deal is better, no?
Has more HDMI, more ports in general
$100 cheaper.
Only thing seems to be missing is Alexa.
