this is the DCF850E1 kit, which comes with a 1.7Ah powerstack battery. when you add it to cart, you will automatically get a free 1.7Ah powerstack starter kit added to your cart.

the picture on the website shows a DCF850 with a 5Ah battery, but i confirmed that the kit you will get will have the 1.7Ah powerstack, NOT the 5Ah battery. go by the listed part number, not the picture

the price is $169, plus $6.49 for ground shipping.

in summary this is what you get for $175.49+tax
1x DCF850B 1/4" impact
2x DCBP034 1.7Ah powerstack batteries
2x DCB112 2Ah chargers
1x 13" contractor bag
1x (or 10x?) getting yelled at by your significant other for buying more tools

ALTERNATIVELY!

you can get the DCF850P1 kit (same impact but with one 5Ah battery instead of the small powerstack) for $120 at home depot using "the hack" listing here: https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWAL.../316629766 -Expired

OR

you can get just the impact as a bare tool with no bags, batteries, chargers or anything else for $72 using "the hack" from HD, here: https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWAL.../316627328

Links because I'm not seeing that kit unless you are talking about the one with 4ah batteries

I do think the 2x 4Ah battery kit with the "hack" (ie, returning the "free" 5ah battery) is still a better deal compared to the Acme Tools deal in the OP. Spending <$15 more gets you the XR hammer drill in addition to the larger capacity batteries.

But I guess it ultimately comes down to whether or not you need the drill and how important the PowerStack batteries are to you.

yea, sorry. appears it was a error in the listing. no chance they meant to do that. there was also a 7% cashback offer from honey that stacked with this deal, which brought the price down to $162-ish

it's not a "better" deal. it's a different deal. i wouldn't use the fat 4ah batteries even if they were free. i actually have one kicking around here that i have no intention of ever using. it's way too big and bulky for what i do. i'd prefer to get 2ah batteries over the fat 4ah batteries even if the price is the same.

Dumb question be upon yee- I don't have a drill but always want one, not a tool man like Tim Taylor. Can I use this as a drill also? Basic stuff I'm not building anything

It can be used as a drill, however you are limited to drill bits that have a hex shank (more expensive, more quality problems, and fewer styles/options) and the bits aren't held securely centered in this driver's quick release chuck.

I've switched over to using my impact driver for the majority of the time. The only times the drill was better was when I needed to drill very carefully the drill won't hammer the bit around before starting. For most wood the impact will be fine even for drilling holes. The impact generally doesn't give you speed or torque control so you'll need to get used to the impact and tapping the trigger and when to let go or you'll over drive many things and strip them out, drive it too deep, or break the screw head off. There's also an advantage the impact is shorter so you can get into tighter spaces. Once you learn the trigger control you will rarely go for the normal drill. At least for my case.

Since all of the comments are about the pricing/hacking, I just wanted to mention that the 850 is a really nice little driver. It's tiny but has plenty of power and the selectable power is a nice addition over my previous driver.

Farm and Home Dewalt Days started 8/3/2023 - DCF850 (bare tool) marked down to 130 + free 5AH DCB205 standard battery (no charger). I took advantage of this last August to jump on a DCF850 and couldn't be happier. Also grabbed the Heat Gun + free 5AH.
