I will be picking up at an SC Apple Store to take advantage of this over weekend. Haven't ever had an issue doing so as long as it's purchased (ordered for pick up at participating store) and picked up at an SC store.
Also, if memory serves, the Apple Store will charge sales tax and then it'll be refunded or will be removed when the charge clears.
