I finished Orwell. What's even weirder is the Big Brother surveillance stuff in the game that people were upset about has nothing on what they actually have to use in real life today. We've made a lot of progress with the "Safety Bill" since this was released.

I'm not a gamer. If I download this will I actually be able to play the game, or are there prerequisites, or memberships, or gear that I have to have?

you have to download the epic game launcher, its like a browser for games, keeps all your epic games organized. Thats free and after that you can install all your games on any system. After that you can play the game whenever you want.

EU is a great game series can play any country you want from the many time periods available, big economy, diplomacy, and combat grand scale type of game. I was an original Beta tester for the first EU, one thing I wish they would improve upon over all these years and new game revisions is that they improve the combat system a bit more to provide a bit more control over a battle to decide outcomes instead of just dice rolls tied to hard stats.

I'm an avid civilization player and love 4x games in general....but even for me, europa had too massive of a learning curve. Those who play it, swear by it though

I started with Imperator Rome, which is streamlined as far as Paradox games go. Then I got into Stellaris, which is complex, but not crazy. Finally, I ended up on Crusader Kings III, which is pretty difficult to get the hang of. I think I would have quickly given up on Crusader Kings if it was the first one I tried, but I'm glad I stuck with it. There's some real fun to be had with that game. I'm sure EU IV is the same way, but I don't have the time or desire to learn a new strategy game right now.
