I happened to be in Target today. The Max was $25 and the non max 4k (OLD one) was $2 cheaper. The others were marked at full price, but then again I did not scan the Bar Code. They were also sold out of the 4k Max.

We can only hope they heed the complaints about the storage issues if new models are forth coming, but I doubt we see them this year. I normally will see a new FCC application for Amazon Products in my news feed. I have not seen anything indicating a refresh on any of these. Amazon as I recall is re-thinking Alexa and Fire products value to the Company. They do not generate the sales they hoped it would.

I read a lot of things, so they get filed away unless it directly effects me. So to satisfy your curiosity I just googled "Alexa amazon disappointment". First acritical that pops up describes the Alexa failures to that division of the company company and the reasons for layoffs in the division. You might also google "amazon Alexa layoffs" where a fake news source also reports it. Before you call BS you should looking yourself.

BTW I have Google and Alexa devices all over the place so I don't have a bone in this fight. I know the strength and weakness by using all of them.

You don't realize the immense power Amazon holds by having people voluntarily install Alexa devices in their homes. Even if they sold them at loss (which they don't) they would still keep selling them

Best Buy had the 4k Max for $25, plus 3 months free Apple TV (new or returning) last week. Is that not still available?? (looked and don't see it. Just 4 month free amazon music.)

Spend the few extra $ for the 4k Max. Very snappy, a nice boost from the firestick 4k, which i've also use.
