You don't realize the immense power Amazon holds by having people voluntarily install Alexa devices in their homes. Even if they sold them at loss (which they don't) they would still keep selling them
It was more that the disappointing part of it is the lack of folks using the devices to shop on.
Based on the Walmart ONN streamer everyday price of $20, Yea they are lucky to break even, but the whole thing was to be your go to device for shopping and your go to device for content. Amazon over estimated its adoption assumptions. Layoffs are because it is not doing as good as Wall Street expected.
Fire TV stick does not support AirPlay, I would not choose it personally. It sees Roku is the only 3rd party streaming device (not TV) that got the authorization from Apple, not sure about that.

I call BS on the sales part. Every household I know has at least one Alexa device.
What are your sources?
I think they were losing billions in that alexa was not generating the revenue they banked on so mass layoffs in the division. The only alexa device we have is the 4k max fire stick and we don't even use the alexa function but I have zero doubts it is monitoring 24/7 like a tiktok streaming stick. I like amazon, I still hold 400 shares of AMZN at a post split cost of $62.88, but alexa is dogshit and amazon has turned into ebay with all the 3rd party chinese sellers, might as well go to temu and buy the junk direct for 1/3 the cost.
