How often does the plus go on sale? I would like to buy it but I don't need it soon.
Typical Slickdeals mentality is, buy when it's on sale, even if you don't need it right now. When you DO need it, 1. forget that you bought it, 2. Forget where you put it. End up getting frustrated and buy it at retail. Now you own two. But when you dollar cost average it, you are still ahead.

#1 happens when you go to checkout at Amazon, and see "Previously purchased on....."

Maybe it's just me. I hope some others agree!

It's just you. I tend to buy things I see a use for in the near future and I'm organized so it goes in the toolbox with all the other tools.

How is this a good deal when every GFCI has one of these built in?
I've had inspections fail when the built in tester said nothing was wrong, but the plug in one, which is more sensitive, indicated a problem.

To test the downstream outlet. One GFCI can protect multiple outlets.

" the beeper will turn on or off, letting you know that you found the right breaker."

I just plug a vacuum into the outlet and when I'm at the breaker box and hear it turn off, I know I flipped the right one.
That's a great idea! I've literally run up and down 2 flights of stairs countless times to find the right breaker.

Yes, that works well, but you're focusing on only 1 benefit/function of this outlet tester while omitting its main benefit/functions.
Your vac won't be able to tell if your outlet is wired correctly, nor be able to test the GFCI.
Yeah or just do what all electrician do and buy a $5-10 non voltage voltage detector that beeps, shove it into the outlet so it's ringing - go to panel turn off breakers till noise stops..or just use the actual tool made for this a (circuit locator) $20 on Amazon which has a gfci tester as well.

Any tips on how to identify correct breaker if the outlet is inside the house and the panel outside. I don't think I would hear the beep or vacuum or fan. Is there another trick if I don't have another human to help?

It's on sale at Lowes till October 28 according to their app. However, that doesn't mean they'll have any left.

Run an extension cord and plug in the device of your choice to verify when power is disconnected.

You're doing exactly what the other commenter was doing, which is talking only about the circuit locator topic, while the main function of this item is checking outlets for being properly wired/connected, as well as a simple GFCI tester. The circuit locator function is just a secondary 'add on' and not the item's primary function.
If we were discussing a circuit locator as the main need or objective, then this item would fall far short, as well as the overwhelming majority of $5-$10 non-contact voltage detectors, as nearly all don't produce the volume needed to hear from electrical panels that are far away from the the outlet being tested.
So your statement that "all electricians" use NCVD's is blatantly false.
The NCVD's are only used in very limited circumstances.

It's almost unheard of for any breaker panel to be mounted on the outside of any home or building. Breakers need extreme protection from the elements and humidity, which most panels can't offer.
However it's common for main electrical disconnect (a pull-out, a disconnect switch, but not breakers) to be located in a box outside.
But IF that scenario ever existed (I'd still question it's safety and legality), the 'trick' is very simple if you're only dealing with only one outlet to find the correct source breaker.
The 'trick' is a long extension cord leading outside to within view (or hearing range) of the exterior electrical box and using a known good lamp/light or a vacuum.

Extension cord a good trick. Maybe they can fit in a Bluetooth in the next one that would tell your phone the on off status in the next version. Fluke, I'll take 2% royalty 😃. Sorry lol at your outside the home panel comment. This scenario exists at least for 13 million house holds. Rough guess, don't quote me.
