Fans have mourned the unceremonial cancellation of an already commissioned and in post-production Season 2 as well as complete platform removal of Star Trek: Prodigy by the Powers-That-Be at Paramount Plus.
Fortunately fans can buy blu rays and also grab a deal on streaming at Vudu, with $9.99 for the entire first season, including the back have (episodes 10-19) that were just added.

Sucks about Prodigy. The rapper AND the show (is the UK band doing okay?) Came here just to thank OP about alerting us to this deal. Just got mine. Screw Paramount+.

Would like a physical release one day if they do one with all of the episodes together. Bought this digitally on Amazon. Hopefully they could at least release Season 2 this way as well. I don't understand what Paramount is thinking.
Is this anything like Lower Decks? I'm just getting into Star Trek and love strange new worlds, but Lower Decks humor was too juvenile for my taste.
Nothing alike. Lower decks is an "adult" cartoon and prodigy is a true children's cartoon. For prodigy, you could compare it to e.g. Tales of Arcadia on Netflix.

It's not like Lower Decks. Though it doesn't have that type of humor the intended audience is kids (if you watch it on Paramount+ the commercials are are for Barbie toys, Nickelodean, Nerf, etc.). That doesn't mean adults can't also enjoy it (I did) nor does it mean the show won't cover serious themes or topics. Best to watch a couple episodes and decide for yourself.
But if you're just getting into Star Trek I'd recommend Next Generation (keep in mind the first season is the weakest). The main character from Voyager is also a leading character in Prodigy so you might wanna watch at least a few episodes of Voyager prior to Prodigy.
I'll mention a few others while I'm here. The Original Series was groundbreaking but has the highest percentage of mediocre episodes. DS9 is awesome but one of the hardest to get into (at least it was for me when I was a teen and politics & religion were major topics of DS9 which I didn't have much interest in at the time). And if you like the TV series 24, watch the last episode of Enterprise season 2 (cliffhanger) and then all of season 3. I like all the other series as well but don't feel like commenting about them
I think it has a rough start since it is more for kids audience, but then the same thing that happens in all star trek shows happens, you start to like the crew and you start to enjoy the story

No. It is more like a traditional ST show... though it takes about 5 or 6 episodes to get past the introduction to characters and get exciting. I really liked it.
