This is literally the selling point for a ceramic grill. Quality materials are heavy and it retains heat for efficiency. If you want a camping charcoal grill of course this isn't it. If you want a low profile grill you can smoke, grill, and make pizza in then this is it. 200-900 degrees worth of flexibility here.

Thanks OP, so tempting. I had an Akorn Jr that was falling apart, so I recently bought a pellet grill which I love! So much easier, but unfortunately doesn't have that great smoky flavor that you get from a Kamado grill.

I have had this for 2 years (since the last sale). It's a beast and made well. Yes…it's heavy and I wouldn't want to be moving it often, but it's a great entrance product into this category. It gets HOT as hell and stays hot. The smaller cooking surface does limit some dishes (can't put a full brisket packard on here) but it is more versatile than you think. Finally….I got a cheap (but strong) aluminum water heater platform to put on and married this set up with a wheeled base (made for washing machines). The combination raises it up a bit (making using it easier…no leaning over) and makes it rollable (so I can store it better when not in use). You won't find this cheaper.

I absolutely love my Kamado Joe Jr., I use it more than all of my other cookers. I'd highly reccomend getting the Kick Ash basket, or similar item from amazon. This is a smokin price, almost makes me want to buy a 2nd one.

Just went back and it's $206.85 with tax. Where are located with surcharge? I can only think of Hawaii and Alaska.

Not sure why people think this is supposed to be portable. It's perfect for cooking for 2. Any more and I use my KJ classic.
