Great deal when 100 stars were worth 200. I cannot believe they upped the stars required for drinks by 100% seemingly overnight

This is their way to lower credit card fees. You can reload with Venmo, leave it there and forget and then reload with Venmo going forward. They are slick

They have devalued their stars point system to the point where deals like this still don't make it worth an unplanned trip to their store, which is stupid. How much does it actually cost them to make a coffee or tea.. even customized. The opportunity cost of keeping someone coming into the store weekly or even monthly was so much better in the past when I felt the reward system offered real value. Now Im lucky if it go more the 3x in a single year.

This is not what bait and switch means.It means they lure you in with something cheap and either insult it enough to pressure you to switch to a higher priced item, or they have something else for you when they run out that is more expensive to try to talk you into. This one is bait with nothing other than breaking even if they are out, or if you were not included in the offer.

This strategy is more like a fast-finger competition, and targeted to boot. By now, not worth the gamble unless you got the email, and feel like chatting for courtesy stars later when you don't get anything.

I reloaded $15 on my card with Venmo on August 10 and still haven't received the bonus stars.

Edit: Chatted with CS today. They manually added the stars to my account. No email confirmation, but the stars appeared within half an hour.

I didn't receive the offer AND had recently done a Venmo reload and received a bonus $5 from Venmo, but I did this anyway.

I didn't receive any bonus. But the chat didn't notice my previous Venmo offer, and gave me the bonus stars anyway.

He did ask for a screenshot of the offer email. I just told him I must've deleted it.
