Been looking for a deal on Dewalt's king of the hill mid-torque 1/2" impact wrench. This is the best I've seen so far if you want the 5Ah power stack. Those go for about $130 on a good day.
Decent deal if you need / want that battery. Tool alone can be found on marketplace usually quite a bit cheaper. Either way, fantastic tool. I own it, absolutely a beast for it's size.
It's not. Somehow the simps come out when Dewalt conjures a marginally better prismatic cell battery and doubles the cost of it.
So harsh. I think tool deals are almost always worth posting. It's not like a video game, sometimes you need a tool for a project and you just can't wait for the perfect deal so it's either pay full price or a slight discount.
Also, the 5 amp version of the stack is new so less often on sale.
I would actually consider jumping on a thread just to call people names more the actions of a simpleton.

I didnt call anyone a name I just said the price doesn't really justify the moderate c-rate power discharge for 2x. Maybe if you are a pro I can see it but for DIY that is a tough pill to swallow.
And how do I know, every time I say the powerstack is a ripoff I get downvoted. I literally had someone tell me that the 5Ah powerstack had more capacity than a 5 Ah XR battery. I have lots of Dewalt tools and love them, I am concerned the direction of the industry is once you are into the system they double or triple the price of the batteries with moderate usability. They have already started w/ mowers. A walk behind topping $1000 -- and it will break in a few years.
Case in point a few years ago I got the jet backpack and 56v ego 7 Ah battery for $200. Fast forward a few years a single 7 Ah battery is $400.
Surely battery material cost has gone down and they offshore them so labor cost or supply chain aren't really excuses anymore.
BTW I have this impact and it is great. I paid $115 for the bare tool two years ago. So even with inflation the simpleton battery costs more than a complex tool? Give me a break. Gillette razors.

Unless you did some sort of HD hack (something i'm not going to get into), how did you get a tool that just came out last year, not 2 years ago, for almost half what it costs brand new? This has been $219 regular price and rarely on sale since coming out.

Unless you have the 896...
I picked it up at the Dewalt service center locally. I assume it was recon but I do have refurb Dewalt tools that have the serial number melted off. To me it looked brand new and it came in the box with all the accessories (not a recon box) or one with the stuff zip-tied. This one did not. And yes it is the B-series bought in early 2022.
If I buy bare tools I try to never buy new because you save so much $$$ but if there is a good battery deal--why not.
If you live in an area w a Dewalt service center I highly suggest you troll it. A few times I just ask the desk guys to hit me up if something comes in and they do. Being nice to folks and bringing them a coffee can go a long way.
Also if you aren't going to pro shops for your stuff you are overpaying -- except for insane battery combos and to me this is not one of them.

Also, for anyone looking, 8 other "free" tools to choose, looks like a decent deal for the 7¼" circular.
