Doesn't seem to be a good deal, same or similar model is on clearance at Lowes:

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Samsung-...1003081538

The reviews on there indicate some issues with Samsung freezing coils, poor customer service and cheap shelves.

No it's a Samsung. I would get their tv, but not appliances.

@ming1981 how long have you owned this refrigerator? I have a similar model about 7 yrs old, with similar looking back panel and for past 3 years, our freezes up every 2-5 weeks. I wouldn't touch this thing if Costco gave it away. There is a tiktok user https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8N6dvkj/
that informs regarding this defect and thousands of people have gotten full refunds, even after being years out of warranty. My case wasn't worth pursuing since my unit is among the oldest affected by this horrible design and Samsungs customer support obstructs for months before doing anything. It should really be a class action suit. I will never buy Samsung appliances again.

Is there a fridge manufacturer that doesn't have these kinds of complaints though?

I bought an LG from Costco a few months back. Knock on wood, it has been rock solid. The thread that it was in was littered with people who had compressor issues, failures and horror stories with LG to share.

Up until that point, I had been on the lookout to replace my existing fridge, which was still operational but basically falling apart (all of the shelves and doors were shot). There wasn't one manufacturer that didn't have their share of horror stories, whether low end or high. It wasn't a function of money - plenty of people complained about their Wolf or Sub Zero fridges going. Kitchenaid, GE, Whirlpool, Bosch, Samsung, LG - you name it, if you did a little bit of digging there was a very vocal community of people pissed that their fridge died prematurely and the company who sold it refused to stand behind it.

Not making excuses for Samsung here - I've never owned one and not buying this one, but whatever complaints I've seen on this thread I've seen on just about all of them.

Samsung kitchen appliances are horrible.

Home we bought came with less than three year old Samsung kitchen appliances, and we just had to replace the fridge because of insulation issues. Hard pass.

I would buy their phones, tablets, maybe even their TVs, but that's it.

Yep. A friend of mine's son is an appliance repairman. He says that, for whatever reason, the Korean-based appliances (Samsung, LG, etc) always keep them VERY busy.

He said he would personally NEVER buy a Samsung/LG appliance. He says he can't say the same for their other products/electronics (phones, TVs) but he said to avoid buying ANY appliance made by Samsung/LG! You have been warned!

PS: Not trying to crap on OP's deal. Just stating my own experience (and thought it was worth sharing). GOOD LUCK!

I've had 2 Samsung fridge like this one here. Overall, they are ok, I would never pay the $2000 that this is supposed to be on non-sale. My issues that I encountered on both of them:
1: Door shelves: expect them to break. From my experience, they last about 2 to 3 years before they they start to crack if you are using them for heavy items like drinks. We would rotate them to the higher ones that only holds condiments, but eventually replaced them once they all broke. Replacement ones on Amazon runs about $20 each.

2: Deli track: the track system on these suck ass! Unless you're super carefull and ensuring you are gently pulling it out slowly and straight, it can easily get bind up.

3: Ice maker: slow, during the summer months (CA, dry heat) it doesn't keep up with making enough ice for 3 WFH adults. Also, when it does get full during the winter months, expect the tray to overflow and when you open the freezer, for the excess ice to fall back and down to the bottom of the fridge, so you'll have to occasionally clear out the ice that falls back there.

We won't be buying another Samsung fridge of this style once our current one dies.

As part of installation, will Costco connect the water line hose to the fridge?

If there is a waterline with shutoff valve right behind the fridge area, yes. If not they wont, you have to hire plumber to run those line first.

Been wondering if these newer Samsung refrigerators are using a different cooling element than the ones from 10 or so years ago? We had bought a RF32 model from Frys back then and luckily we opted for the extended warranty - a little over a year in the bottom freezer stopped working. Turned out that the model came with 2 compressors - one for upper section and other for lower freezer part. Problem really began when no repair shops would work on it - apparently the gas used for cooling was Kerosene.

After a few days, Frys ended up replacing it with the same but had to have it shipped to TX from GA as it was a clearance item by then and that was the only place with it still in stock.

Been working ever since without a problem - if you don't count the ice maker. Turns out it's design leads to issues of its own - not turning off when full of ice and clogging up the drop area with frozen ice.
