I bought one of these back in May - coming from an i7 9700k - it was working fine, I just wanted to build a new thing!
The 7800x3d has been great! I chose it over a 13700k/13900k because I wanted something that ran cooler - and it does. I think it runs cooler than my 9700k did (but maybe it's my imagination lol).
It has been very stable. The only stability issues I had came from trying to overclock 4x16gb ram to ddr5-6000 - which EVERYONE told me not to do. They all said to go with 2 sticks for better performance lol. They were right, and I knew that going in, so I accepted my fate.
Still, fun build. I used a MSI Carbon x670e and have been very happy with this build.

Update: Just picked one up from Microcenter and can confirm Starfield is included also and used the $25 new customer coupon.

Considering you need a new motherboard, and ram, and the time it would take to tweak everything... It's just not worth it until it's a serious improvement.
I just recently upgraded from a 3600x to a 5600x and a 1080 to a 3070. I like riding the slightly above mediocre middle ground when it comes to my gaming rig. It's a solid strategy when extra cash isn't in abundance.

That said, I'm partial to at least 8 P-cores, hence the 11900k over 5600x.I would have to go up to 5700x.
