Never even considered a leather backpack. Seems like it'd be hot and heavy for no good reason.

I got this on the last deal that was posted here. My expectations were low, but I was pleasantly surprised that mine looks really good. All the zipper, pockets, and sewing didn't have any issues, so I was happy. The only "issue" was the top flap on mine is a couple shades lighter than the rest of the bag. I actually don't mind the look at all though. The leather also scratches very easy, so if you are into that look, then you'll definitely like it, but if you don't, then it's gonna drive you nuts.

Low expectations for a $100 backpack?

I guess if you're really in the market for an all leather backpack this is a good deal.

Kinda wild that they dont show you the interior at all in the photos.

Those side pockets look stupid. Why would you want a suede professional/office backpack that has two large unsecured water bottle pockets

Coworker bought this, and leaves it hanging on the wall. I'm holding it now. It is awkward, poorly designed, and heavy. The whole bag is balanced oddly, like it is too short and wide to be comfortable. It almost sits like a larger version of a mini purse-backpack, but is to unwieldily at full-size at those proportion. The side pouches are too large, and not elastic enough to hold stuff well. The construction is not terrible, but also not great: it feels likely to fall apart before too long. Zipper is stiff, but not trash quality. The interior is actually decent fabric, and possibly sewn better than the outside. The leather itself is not too thin, but is overly stiff and shows scratches really easily. The tones on different pieces are mismatched.

The bag generally looks cheap, and weird, feels heavy but not durable. He never uses it.

So you just go around touching your coworkers things that are hanging on the walk, inspecting and analyzing them? for quality? Seems odd to me.
