Not worth the time to play it. It's just not a good game. Patches for this are irrelevant, because the real problems with it are not patchable. They're not patching the boring gameplay and complete lack of scares. You have one combo through the entire game. You can upgrade it to extend it by 2 attacks, but that's it. Guns are really only there to get a critical hit on a body part during a combo. The game is very melee focused. You're not meant to shoot your way through the game. The combat is so freaking easy. It's almost impossible to get hit. It's very clear when the enemy is going to attack, so you just hold left or right to dodge when you see their arm go up. You don't even have to hold the correct site. Lol. Then you do 2 or 3 hits, followed by a shot from a gun, then the enemy will attack right after and you dodge and repeat. You can beat the game using almost nothing but that formula. The only exceptions are the crawling enemy, which you just shoot, and the 2 bosses. It's an extremely repetitive game. The only thing it has going for it is graphics. It's very pretty.
Don't compare to dead space and you might enjoy it. It was frustrating to play but they may have fixed a few things since release so watch some gameplay. Price isn't bad at this point to try it
I think I paid close to $30 for this earlier this year and didn't regret it at that price. $20 seems more than fair. I thought presentation was very good (graphics, sounds) as were character performances, and I liked the SciFi setting. Gameplay is ok (dodging is weird, turned on auto-dodge). Agree Dead Space is better but for a good price I'm happy to play both.

Same guy made both actually. I paid full price when it came out and would again.

Dead Space is so much better. This game sucks.
