Most people sit way too far from their TVs to have optimal viewing. Money aside, many would actually be better off with a screen this size. A screen this size should be about 6-12.5 ft. from a person's eyes. At 6 feet it will still be viewable, but it's will be kind of like IMAX where you have to look around a bit.
I want the 150 inch UST projectors, but finding an ALR screen kills it. This at $4k seems like a better deal than a 120 inch ust @2-3k$ with a screen imo.
Let's get the jokes out the way: This TV isn't meant for your home. This TV is for commercial usage. posted by the reception area or in a board room/conference room.
98'' is way too damn big and it's only a LCD. You'd need to truly have a large room with great seating. Why waste space and home energy? At that rate, may as well just get a great projector....
Unless your room is totally dark, most any TV will outperform any projector. An average living room is 16x20. This size won't be a problem at all.
98 inch where do you put it. I am getting rid of my 65 since can not fit it anywhere ! 98 inch. I guess you buy it first and then make a building around it.

You actually need a CLR because it projects upwards. I was lucky to find 100 inch CLR screen for $330 at Walmart. But I would be much rather this tv. Think of selling my set up now 😂 for this.
3900 for a tv that'll last maybe 3 years before developing some issue. Lol.
True story TCL and Hisense both make extremely cheap TVs but they dont last. Lots of SD and reddit posts complaining about their TCL and Hisense TVs dying after 2-3 years.
Imagine this TV in your living room and then imagine setting it up and having to take it to the dump if it ever fails.

I'd consider this tv for my living room, but wtf is it with putting the stands for big tv's all the way at the ends? I have tv stands with room on either side for it. But not THAT wide.

The recommended THX viewing distance for a 98" screen is 10 feet. That doesn't require that big a room. I'm sitting farther from my TV right now.
Now you may not WANT a TV that big, and that's perfectly reasonable, but from a viewing experience standpoint it's not crazy.
I'm planning a movie room in my basement next year. Was going to go 100" projection, but this has me thinking, maybe it's better to go with a traditional 100 inch TV instead? Is there any advantage to a projector movie room over a LCD TV movie room if size is the same?

It's a lot easier to move or replace a projector than 90"++ TV's

This goes for many electronics. I'm in the Sony reddit and it's full of same stories. You sell a ton of TVs you gonna have tons of failures reported, especially in "support groups". Most of the internals for all TVs are made in one of a few factories. Sony and Samsung ordering the similar parts from the same places.

I'd go with an UST that can do 150"
