IMO it's worth spending $7 more to protect a potential $1000 product.

I don't normally care about brand name but Pelican is legendary and I have thoroughly tested this in a swimming pool. It didn't even let 1 drop of water in!
Same with ziplock bag.

I've been using this the past 4 months and there are a few things you should note. If you have a ultrasonic fingerprint reader on your phone, it will not work. You have to use the camera for face recognition or draw the pattern/pin. It's almost impossible to manipulate the power and volume buttons so I downloaded an app to allow me to change the volume via the screen. Because it's hard to manipulate the power button, I set the screen timeout to 15 seconds so it doesn't stay on and waste battery. My S22 does move around a tiny bit but you can prevent it by squeezing the air out before securing the clasp. Lastly, little bubbles can form between the window and your phone but that's not a big deal for me. I use this as my everyday carry and have not used it in water yet.

I gave up using these phone bags when i go kayak fishing. They just do not work with wet hands. They overheat in the sun causing the touchscreen to be even less useful. Face recognition is none. And whats worse, you cant see the screen because if the shiny plastic bag. I use that stretchy wrap around holder and a lanyard. Most phones are waterproof and i never had an issue dumping and retrieving my phone in saltwater.

Dang, would like one of these for the iPhone 13/14/Pro sized phones for this price. Looks like a nice protective case/bag for camping/river days!

You're going to trust a <$1 product from a shady website to protect an $800+ phone from dust & water?

I currently have a non pelican one of these that looks the exact same and was bought at a dive shop, seemed like great quality

- my problem is

Once underwater I can't press the camera button to activate the shutter, or if i hit record and go under, the water pressure on the plastic "hits" the button and the recordings stop.

Wouldn't this have the same problem?

I've personally never loved flexible cases like this one. The days of having to worry about a phone being splashed are essentially gone with most newer ones being IP67 or IP68 rated. If I'm doing something active enough that I feel I need to protect my phone from water, I probably also need to 1) protect my wallet/keys and 2) protect my phone from impacts.

A while ago, I got a Medium Columbia PFG gear box for $20 on sale, and it has enough room for all three and a hand towel. Bulk isn't a big deal since I'm just strapping it to my inflatable kayak for floats. I wanted something smaller, so I recently got one of these [geckobrands.com] on sale from a surf shop for $15. Enough room for all three, and it easily fits in a medium-size backpack.

I've bought several of the generic cases with high ratings from Amazon and they have all worked fine. After a while they may start to leak, one of mine did probably because sand got into the closing mechanism. I put in a napkin to soak up any leak water and blow into the bag when I close it so that it ends up being like a little pillow. I don't understand the specific need for flotation because all of them floated since they have air in the bag and are not suction sealed to the phone, but now that people have mentioned it I think one of them has a flotation ring around it. I always do a test before going into the water by submerging it for several seconds then pulling it out and tilting it side to side to see if any water got in. Then when in the water I'll check every 15 minutes or so for my sanity. These things are a life saver when you don't want to leave your phone, keys, wallet up for grabs to wandering strangers.
The floating feature is nice I guess though for my 'non-floating' ones, I just bought a neon 'floating camera strap' which I actually prefer because it kept the phone attached to my wrist and if I did drop it in the water, it was easy to find.

No iPhone is waterproof. It's IP68 which is always water resistant

Can confirm this. This is a good price for a VERY good pouch! Buying one more for wifey!

Even if she's petite, I'm worried she won't fit in this

Deal is dead, but I read the thread and I have a strange feeling like I'm reading a bunch of fake reviews. Too glowing.
