We have requested this thread to be stickied over here but it hasnt happened yet so I am making a thread with a link so that us DSers can easily find it (hopefully).

Also, if it seems that TPTB wont listen to us that we HATE this *upgrade* I would like recommendations of your favorite forum style deal sites. Dont love insta for deals. I read over at eyeheart but dont participate there yet. Is there someplace else I should be? You may need to cloak recommendations so they dont get censored.

I still use classic view because the other version looks like Google shopping comparison. The classic view imo is easier to view and find deals that I want. I use to view heart drugstores but it's too much just to view the ad now.

I'm a Classic user but rarely visit SD anymore. On a newer device the only options are Redesign and Mobile. Both incorporate too much white space which are harder to follow and require more scrolling. Do they think that redesign will bring in more users? There must be a financial reason for doing it. Is it to attract people to HD?

I use the hearts for ad previews. I use phW and a TE group for deals. Not many folks in either place but one doesn't have to talk in riddles about certain apps and deals. I know there are IG groups but I don't shop like they do.

The DS forums are what gave SD its name but now we're just holding on by a thread (did you like that one?). Pretty soon everything will just be rebates. It lets the stores keep their high margins and we can still get our deals (but not the ones that we're used to). It will give the stores a lot more control over what we buy. At that point, it's not going to matter what format SD has.

Thanks. I just found my desktop was "updated". It's awful.

ETA: I get it now. There's now tons of advertising. Instead of just the banner ad at the top the whole right 1/3 of the page is now ads all the way down. I knew there had to be a financial reason for the change. The money folks must have calculated that the increased ad revenue is worth the loss of members. Sort of like the decision to ban discussion of competitor sites; as if SD's cash back would ever compete with anything.

Thank you for starting this thread. Today is the first I have heard of this new redesign. I hope I don't get it until the very end. I am a Classic user and it is very easy on the old eyes and glasses.

I asked over there. Will post if I get a response.

Given that the response to non-classic was always negative and yet they still mad this decision last year, I am not overly optimistic that this is anything other than a temporary stay. It would be nice if they listen to us for a while though and we dont have to have this fight again for a couple of years.
