Yes. One slot is soldered but the other one is available to be swapped/upgraded.

Will you lose dual channel if you do that?

You just need ram in both slots for dual channel ddr4 ram. May need to check the configuration of soldered ram so you can buy a (almost) matching one

The fan was super loud during gaming, probably one of the noisiest laptops I've ever owned. Other than that, everything works great. You can upgrade only one stick of RAM and there's an extra M.2 SSD slot for an SSD upgrade.

Its DDR5. You will not lose dual channel like with DDR4.

I didn't know that. There's a thing called Flex Mode where you can run different sized modules in dual channel. The two modules will run in dual channel while the remainder of the larger module will run in single channel.

for a bit of clarification, say you have an 8 GB module and a 4 GB module installed. 4 GB of each module will operate in dual channel while the remaining 4 GB of the 8 GB module will run in single channel operation/speed. I didn't know this changed with DDR5

Edit: just looked it up. No difference with DDR5.
Flex technology still applies in this scenario

There are better deals to be had if you have some available. I got the x15 r2 with 3070ti similar priced as you

Damn it, only "open box excellent certified" for $880 is available for me. Otherwise, this would have been an excellent deal if you can get it for $780.

Open box $729 available. Also what is up with people comparing $900-1k laptop? More expensive = more performance. Duh.
