The PS5 has another slot to install an SSD to, except only certain ssds can be used based on their speeds. For PS5 means that it is good enough to be installed in a PS5.

Correct, this will work in the PlayStation 5 (PS5). This doesn't replace the internal storage it is installed as "expansion storage". Remove one of the side panels of the PS5 and you'll see a silver cover around 1" x 3". Underneath that is where you install the expansion storage drive. It's not hard to do, there's plenty of YouTube videos to help you.

Couple of folks answered your question so I'd like to add: the heat spreader on this thing isn't exactly a heatsink. Not sure how hard it is to apply a heatsink on this unit but if you search reddit or tech forums, I'm sure you'll see people "fixing" this for PS5

Can you elaborate on the heat spreader, not heat sink, I don't understand and really didn't know that there was a difference?

This is a good deal for a drive at this speed.
According to Reddit, it's the same sad the s70 blade. The issues is that's a ig5236 based drive and there are reports of sudden failures with them.

I never had a problem with egg. I spent very little and bought mostly free or cheap after rebate things. Only one time i bought a cheap keyboard which was defective. Egg made return extremely difficult and i had to pay for return shipping. It wasn't even worth my time. It's not so much about the money but why should consumers tolerate defective crap and lose money then waste time and more money returning defective chinese garbage. I'm not against egg but i'd rather give my money to amazon. Same tax and same return shipping included in the price. Doubt amazon will PM because coupon code.

I don't want to end up with a brick and find out how adata handles customer service and RMA. I'll pass.

Heat sink is bigger and better at cooling. You may be fine with just the included spreader, but I'd rather have a proper heat sink on it to keep things cool in the PS5 slot.

From Sabrent on the difference: "SSDs and especially faster, PCIe 4.0 ones, tend to have either a heat spreader or a heat sink. A heat spreader could be as simple as a copper- or graphene-backed label, or may be an actual piece of metal. This may not offer much in the way of cooling but can equalize component temperatures. A heat sink, instead, will be attached by thermal padding and will offer much better cooling potential, depending on its characteristics, to help prevent drive throttling. This includes the M.2 heat sinks provided with motherboards."

they don't even check the items at times and put a sticker on it. i've bought a mouse in which the box had nothing in it. just bought a ps5 and it came quick and unopened from tiktok/newegg.
