Apple MagSafe Battery Pack, "certified refurbished to like new" condition by vendor, $59. Use 20% AUGUST20 coupon code to bring price to $48. Compatible with iPhone 12, 13 and 14 [apple.com].

Not the largest capacity MagSafe Battery pack, but compact and well made. I suspect it's getting close to being replaced by a newer model. Best used with a 20W charger and USB-C to Lightning cable (neither included). Real world usage with an iPhone 13 Pro Max gives about a 40% addition to charge, but more with if you have a smaller capacity phone.

I dunno how to think about this deal -- it's basically a completely sealed product (it's not like you can unscrew a couple screws and open it up to "refurbish"), so are these just open box returns?

Very true, but it's unclear how many charging cycles have occurred and how much capacity might have degraded. On the other hand, my real-world use pattern with my current one is to just use it on days I'm likely to use a lot of juice (international roaming tends to be a power drain). So likely any open box returns won't have had too many charging cycles.

Probably means they wiped it down with a cloth.

Would be nice if they included what their version of refurbished means...

I finally just upgraded to the iPhone 14 Pro and I'm in the market for one of these. From what I can gather so far, there are some nice features, like native integration with your iPhone, so you can see the charge level, 7.5W wireless charging (may require a firmware update) versus the typical 5W, and if you plug it in with a 20W or higher USB C charger, you get up to 15W wireless fast charging. You can also "reverse charge" it by plugging in your phone normally while the battery pack is attached to the back.

Obviously, there are less expensive alternatives that don't have all these nice secondary features, but that could be said about any Apple product.
