It looks like they cut prices on the Model X and Model X Plaid. The base Model X now sells for $79,990 while the Plaid now sells for $89,990. All color options are included too. It also seems as if it might now qualify for a tax credit.

Edit: Model S prices were slashed too.

Model S base model $74,990

Now you're categorizing.
Is it the fastest car ever made? No.
Is it the fastest production car ever made? No.
Is it the fastest production sedan under $100k from the Factory? Possibly if you don't count the Demon 170 which is a coupe.

Also what you classify as fast isn't the same thing as I do. 0-60 doesn't mean fast to me, it's quick. Quick to get up to speed. Fast is something that can do a 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, or top speed. I don't disagree that instant power is great, I was just pointing out the stupidness of saying it was "the fastest car ever made." I've got an Audi S4 that gets 3.2 0-60's with just a simple OTS tune, they just don't come that way from the factory.
I need to look at plaid's quarter mile numbers. You are misinformed if you think it's only a quick car. It will eat your Audi and spit it out.

I have a question. What happens 3 or 4 years down the line when the battery health is down like the phones we use. Do you pay to get the batteries replaced or is there some kind of coverage? Been wanting to get an EV but holding myself back thinking what happens next.
My 2015 S needed a replacement battery the day after the 8y warranty ended. $15k. They took the other battery back. And the replacement was refurbished from another 2015.

So the answer is you get rid of the car at the 7.5y mark. Or you decide it's worth $15k/4y to keep it running.

It sucks but it's your worst case scenario and not totally unlikely to happen. And all of that said I love the stupid car and still choose it.

I think its silly to try to argue that Teslas aren't lightning fast, as impressive as the speed was I didn't think the feel was all that great when I was behind the wheel of one.

In any case, lots of competition is hitting the market and hitting it hard, Tesla was able to get away with bad QC and lots of broken promises but those days are over. Dropping prices is their way of trying to keep hold onto the market. They simply won't be able to charge Apple prices anymore, and their margins will take a massive hit because of that.

Hmm not going to lie, I kinda wish I wouldn't have got the corvette in May this year with this costing the same for the Plaid.

Y'all are confusing fastest with quickest, big difference.

Sorry, I now see this has already been discussed.
If you are referring to Plaid you are confusing it something else. It has a killer quarter mile mile and keeps pulling hard even after it hits that mark.

Probably a record at $80k for SD in terms of a product SDers might actually buy.

I'm getting a Polestar 3 instead... Looks like a real vehicle and not an egg
I think Polestar 3 is closer in size to Model Y. Model X is a much bigger vehicle, which comes in handy with 2+ kids.

Looks like the economy is prompting a lot of price cuts.

EVs effect on saving the environment is negligible once you factor their manufacture. Better tech than ICE for sure though

A Telsa Plaid recently set a new world record for the 1/4 mile -- 8.714 seconds. At the end of the quarter mile, the speed was 158 mph. Plus the 0-60 time was 1.37 seconds. Is this fast enough for you?
