Wasn't willing to pay more than the $999 that I paid for my 3800 but if I had extra cash to burn I absolutely would've jumped on this.

It's currently back ordered with no estimated delivery date at crutchfield so there is a chance that this has been truly discontinued and we will see lower prices... At least that's what I'm telling myself because I don't have the budget to buy this ideal receiver (for my uses) at the moment 🤣

I'm guessing the 6800 is coming out soon. I own a 6700 and at this price I think it's a very solid value. It doesn't have Dirac its not the best for 4k 120 gaming. but the build quality, power and and versatility would be hard to beat at this price.

It has been confirmed that the X6700H will be replaced with a new release. (X6800H?)

If you don't need Dirac and 4 sub outs with directional sub setting this is a good buy.
Here is a comparison:

What is this race to infinite number of channels? What happened to the days of great stereo receivers?

The speaker terminals are assignable - you can use them for zone 2/Zone 3 or atmos, or surround or bi-amp your fronts ... all possible. I'd upgrade from my x-5200w to do just that. I have front atmos, surround back and surround sides... I can't bi-amp. My Zone 2 and 3 are currently handle buy another amp. would love to do Zone 2 with this and Zone 3 with the other amp.

BUT trying not to upgrade too soon.
