If you like the smell, go for it, I do. But they don't offer any protection or repel mosquitos.

Citronella has been advertised as a bug repellent for many years, but academic studies show it's not effective at it, at all.

Dont buy it for the repellent effects. Havent seen them help at all. They are nice(fairly bright) little candles that do smell great. I would still buy again at this price for the ambience..

It says citronella in the title and right on the can. Whether you think citronella actually does anything is a different story.

It's citronella. That's what it does, it keeps most bugs away including mosquitoes.

I have used a handful of these this year, mostly for the smell.
They help keep the bugs away some but being in Louisiana nothing is going to work at keeping the 100% away.

These seem like they would be great to have a couple of dozen of these stored away for emergencies. They store nice and you could use the tin for storage after you're done with the candle.

I used these camping this year, bought em when they were this price before. They definitely seemed to keep mosquitos away and are pretty bright. Unfortunately the poster above me is correct, this is normal price. Hopefully they drop down a bit more Frown
