Patiently waiting for their better trade in deals...I realized I only paid $99 for the s7+ to s8+ upgrade which was a good deal to me...paying $500 for the s9+ trade in is just meh.

My tab s8 unlocks so fast I'm not sure it could get any faster. Just lightly tap my finger on the capacitive fingerprint reader and it's unlocked/ready

So if I sign into my EDU account, it takes an extra $40 off plus I have a $65 coupon. I'm wondering if that would mess up the $200 trade.
Ordinarily I wouldn't be concerned but I had a bad experience with Samsung when I bought a refrigerator and they didn't honor a discount on the warranty even though it was sent to me in an email.

I am also having little hard time understanding how is this a good deal at $600 ?? where you can get any top line tablet around the same price. Yes - you get a free keyboard but stronger selling alternatives are the same or cheaper price. I think it is Samsung Marketing gimmick with $200 off on trade in ?
Old Samsung Tablet deals were under $200.

The smooth brains laughed at the s23 ultra and flip/fold pre-order offers but there hasn't been anything better since

Another poster on another thread mentioned that he thinks some of those days are over. A hobby of mine, for about 9 years now, is to buy Samsung gear with my EPP discount to play with it and to learn and get use out of it as well. The better the discount, the more play time. This past 1-2 years has been brutal with regard to those legendary EPP deals, however.

I got it last week for 57.xx plus tax with 12gb mem/256. But i got an S23+ too. Traded in s21+ and tab s8 both 128gb. Deal was 565 plus tax... But again tablet was only 57

I already did the trade in for the S9 with other Android Tablet ($75) that was not in use, Edu discount (~65) and the pre-order $50 bonus. Came to $500 for the base S9 with the storage and memory upgrade after discounts, trade in and cashback which was was 12% at a particular site that I got in Amex MR points which is worth more to me.

The free storage upgrade on the base S9 also gives you 4GB more ram vs just double the storage on the Plus and Ultra. Screen being the same on all, I think the base S9 is best deal.

As some others have noted, using the Samsung Shop app with EPP/EDU account does give the best discount. When you are at the cart, scroll down to refresh and that "lucky" promo comes through.
