Currently the 6800XTs are $480 to $500. At that price, I would buy the 7800XT.

A few things to keep in mind when choosing it over the 7800 XT:

- Buying used means you probably won't get Starfield for free
- New ones might get you Starfield, but the price difference on a NEW 6800XT is only marginally cheaper than a new 7800XT
- 6800XT is more power hungry with a higher recommended power requirement (850w power supply vs 750w for the 7800xt).

If you can get a used 6800XT for around 400, then that would be great, but its going to be tough trying to find it for that price on ebay.
