Your last chance to save your ears by wearing proper protection was about a year ago. You're screwed now.

I've enjoyed using these to listen to podcasts while mowing the lawn.

These are phenom for lawn care. Protect your ears and listen to smartless at the same time. Openly laugh at Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes as Will Arnett roasts them

Are you using a DAC dongle (since most phones no longer have a headphone jack)? If so, the culprit is likely the dongle and not the headphones.
Depends on the dongle.

No it doesn't. The likelihood of the culprit being the dongle vs the speaker is extraordinarily higher, which is what I said. Yes there are better dongles. Yes there are bad speakers. The number of bad dongles is much greater than the number of bad speakers. Hence why I said likely. If we're talking about absolutes, which no one was, then yes. Depends on the dongle.

Maybe a stupid question, but could these be used at a gun range to protect your ears as well? Reviews and description seemed to highlight use case was mainly yard work, loud machinery, etc
Yes but they won't auto silence like gun earphones. I think they are more comfortable than most gun versions but they get quite warm after a while.

These are excellent for woodworking and yardwork. I bought these in 2019 for $42 and still use them weekly, zero issues. Highly recommend these.

Literally watching Stumpy Nubs on youtube this afternoon convince me to get hearing protection for power saws. Thought this was a targeted ad post by the algorithms - but guess it's just lucky timing.

Yes, but it's not an issue with other wired headphones for me.

Sorry, not sure I follow ... What do you mean by auto silence? the gun earphones I use currently muffle all loud sounds ... do these earphones not operate in the same manner?

All of the gun earphones I've used have microphones or pressure sensors that only block sound when they detect the gunshot. These just block everything and do a good job of it.

Can get these tomorrow before I take our first long road trip with our 7 week old daughter. How effective is this to protect my ears while driving during meltdowns?

Dang I just got these like a week or so ago at full price for a loud data center environment

any way I can get the difference without refunding?
No price adjustments just repurchase and return. I used these in a DC but just use noise canceling ear buds now. I spoke with a DC tech over the phone who used Sony WH-1000XM5 and he sounded so clear with little background noise.

Ahhh, makes sense. That helps a lot, thanks!
